hey guys, just as an update, i just scored me a job in houston this week. looks like i will be moveing up there on the first of October. considering that i will be new, i am crossing my fingers i can get that sauterday off. if not i will have to work until 4pm eather way if i cant get off, i will be heading up there sauterday after work just to camp out, drink some bear with yall and check out the races on sunday. should be there at 10pm. so no mader what i will be there but it may not be with my car. the other thing is, is that i will not have a PC for a while so i might not even be able to post up anymore until i regain internet access.

exactly how does the oil look like? is it small peaces of metal or does the oil look thick and gray (kind of like a gun metal color).

Congrats Taq. Hopefully we'll see ya there. Maybe you can "borrow" someone's internet to keep up on the posts.

All is well. Took the valve covers off and leak down. All is OK. Eventually the piece of metal that came out with the oil was from the old stock heads. The piece was from the bottom of a spring or maybe the shim. But did NOT match the present springs or anything else. Good God that was a relief.

The SS goes on the dyno to find some more hp - lean it out just a bit.

Taq is really cool that Coach is offering this. I only wish that someone in our shitty town (other than my mechanic) knew what they were doing with these cars.

Only 4 days and counting to Cordova - DA this morning - 131' - **** - over 3700' DA difference than my last run

Hey guys I finally got off my *** and made a short video of my SS and trailer/tow rig.

Can't dyno the SS until we figure out how to on such a big converter ... was suppose to be a 4800 but on a good day it will go up to 5200 stall.

Any ideas on the best way to dyno on that large of converter???

Well here's the link ... right click .. open in new window..

Lost all my music some how - but its short anyway - I don't have a still camera so the movie will have to do.

Sounds great - welcome aboard. Believe that brings the count to 8 or 9.

yea, nice vid man
btw, while we are organizing little side races here, how bout we all race our tow vehicles for kicks and giggles, since people have to do it anyway like last year, id enjoy it more if they were racing on the track instead of on pit road past my camper at 2am.

I'm game. IF Thunder can fit us in. Eric is the ring leader. Taq name the race "GRUNDGE" race 2004.

What kind of tow vehicles do we have???

Mines a GMC 2004 6.0 4 door 2500hd (as in the video). It has all of 2700 miles on it. It may reach 5000miles by Thunder. The closest it has been to the track is to haul its little brother (the SS - well they both do have LS1 in them ).

Oh yea Taq/Eric - I did finally brake down and buy that generator. Seems to be a waste of money, but just can't shake this feeling that it will be needed in my next 2 races. Well we do have electric power for the weekend at least.

I wonder were Eric is. Hope that piece of **** JEANNE did hit his area again.
