Default 10's on 17" nitto's cam only nitrous??

Anybody know of someone who has gotten into the 10's with a stock cube LS1 running cam only/nitrous with 3.73's on a 275/40 17' nitto DR's?? Talking about a M6 car and the stock 10bolt!

I magnaged to sqeek out a couple of high 10.90s with 17" Nittos and a 150 shot, stock cam. The Nittos where good for low 1.60s, so if you know your way around the 6 speed it could easily happen. How long the rear will last is anybodies guess.

It's very impressive to see anyone run in the 10's with a 17 inch tire. I'd like to see 10's next year with my ET street radials (with the addition of heads/nitrous of course).

I am gonna give it a shot.............I have to much gear in the car currently, shift to 5th before the traps but have run a 11.52 @ 124.60mph on a 1.81 60'. I have run as low as a 1.75 60' but had to much heat in the clutch (back 2 back runs) and the couldn't get the car in 2nd quickly so aborted the run.....would have been good for a 11.4x that night.

TR224 cam only stock heads/bottom end- M6- stock 10bolt 4.10's
100rwhp dry shot shifting the car at 6000rpm on Nitto DR's 275/40 17's

I want to do this on the stock 10 spoke rims.

Things I will have to do...........shift higher (6400-6600) and add "MO" juice.......thinking dual stage 200shot....Allan we need to talk brother .... will get me close with the 60' times I am limited too.

And I might have to install my 3.73's to stop losing e.t. and mph by shifting to 5th.

Any insight will be appreciated as long as it is not..........

add a 12bolt with e.t. streets and skinnes
or
get a "wet" kit

I'm going to be building a Single turbo full weight car and going to see if we can't find 9's on a 315 drag radial on a 17 inch rim. Should be interesting...

gear change.... if you want to spray a dual stage 200 shot at it... i'd go back to the stock 3.42.

10's on the 10..... I know you'll get there. You've run so many good times with that car that most people would call BS on its rediculus. Here is your chance to do it again. M6 w/550-600rwhp goes 10's on 10bolt on 17"nittos.

I know a guy whos been 10.90 on 18" BFGs, its a Z06 though but its just bolt-on and 100 dry shot. Makes about 480rwhp on the spray. Hes pulling high 1.50s low 1.60s on the 60'. I think you could do it with a 150-175 dry shot but then you'd need injectors and another tune and less gear.

Thanks for all the replies and suggestions..............go to the track tomorrow night to see if I can lower my time a little more before I install the 3.73's.

no freakin way. jmho. i have 315/35R17 nitto DRs, 4.10's 405 at the tires on motor, and the best I got them to spin was a 2.2 60ft. granted, this was at lapeer dragway, not known for the best conditions, but in any case, cam only with a 150 shot, doubtful. you wont even be able to spray until 3rd gear at least. youd be lucky to get low 11's. i havent sprayed on my combo yet, but im not going to see 10s without slicks. maybe i shouldve gotten MT drags instead, maybe you should too.

I sure wouldn't be quick to say no way. I have run 1.65' 60 ft on nittos in an M6 and put up an 11.66 run on that pass with 420 to the wheels. I have personally seen red fury run 11.52 on a 100shot cam only with nittos spraying out of 1st gear leaving off idle plus he has the vid. I was next to him running and have the other timeslip to prove hit time. Maybe he will pust up the vid for you.

I am gonna put my 3.73's so I can quit shifting to 5th and see what that gives then if that ain't enough run a dual stage with the kit I have to make a run for the 10.9 range.

Check out my times and I had a over a tenth better on a aborted run. On 16" mt dr's, I think it has 10's in her.

On a side note I watch a 6spd 418hp 01 SS snap a axle leaving the line @ 4000 with my tires. Good luck

DAMN, that run looked good. You seemed to be very quick off the line. Im suppose I shouldn't say NO, but i will say not probable. The best I ran at lapeer was a 12.89 @118 with a 2.2 60' time. This was at Lapeer Dragway on a 75* day, low humidity, on a 315/35R17 Nitto DR. I was leaving off idle as well, still spinning in first in the upper rpm range. I was shifting kinda slow, because I have a hurst T-handle on a B & M Ripper that doesn;t always like going into 4th...I didn't want to funk anything up the first time at the track after my H/C install. I was shifting at 6800 too, still in 4th at the traps. I just got my timing tuner and electric WOT switch hooked up last year. hooked up last year. Im going for the new wiring job this year, new noids, and possibly also a 2 stage system. Once I get my stock shift handle and no buttons for the juice, i think I will be able to hit 11s on spray for sure, possibly 10's. I need more traction, we all do. i think im going to wait for the 10's until I get my 9 inch.
