Default In a Dilemma

I'm wanting to build a new engine and was wondering if anyone could give me some advice. I want to run 10's or faster and Here is want I can't figure out:

347 CID LS1/LS6
402 CID LS2
416 CID GM's New 6.2L Block
427 CID LS7

Then:
N/A
Supercharged
Turbo
Twin Turbo

Here is what I was thinking:

402 CID, 85mm SLP MAF, 90mm TB, LSX intake, 248/254 .611"/.613" Dur. 113 CL, PRC Stage 3 CNC Ported Dart Heads 2.08" Intake 1.60" Exhaust, 11.1:1 Comp, Diamond Forged Pistons, Scat Rods, Eagle Crank, 42 Lbs Fuel Injectors (If Needed), Racetronics F-Body Fuel System, 200 Shot, Jet Long Tubes, 3" Dual Exhaust W/ Elec. Cut outs, RAM HD Clutch, RAM Billet Steel Flywheel, GM/VIPER Tranny.

Also wondering on installing:
Moser 12 Bolt: 33 Spline Axels Heavy Duty Eaton Posi (Best gear Ratio?)
QA1 Shocks all around W/ Drag Springs in front (What spring rate?)
BMR Adj. Torque Arm
Rear Control arms (Adj. or non-adj.?)
Rear Control Arms Relocation Brackets
Drive shaft safety loop
Drag Sway Bar?
Wolf 6-Point Roll Cage
275/50/16 Drags (Better Size?)

These are my thoughts any ideas would be great. This car is an every day driver now, but after this summer it won't be. But I still want to be able to drive the car on the street if possible for Car Shows, Cruses, and occasional street runs.

Current Mods:

2000 Camaro SS
Stock engine, Jet LT Headers, Dual 2.5" exhaust, Flow Tech After Burners, LS1 Edit, 180 Deg. Therm., Free Mods, 8.5mm MSD Wires, SLP Lid, K&N, BMR Non-Adj. Control Arms, BMR Pan Hard Rod, Granatelli Sub frames, Stock T-56 (Blown up), B&M Ripper, Stock 10 Bolt, 3.73's, G2 Girdle

There is an old saying which says, "speed costs money, how fast can you afford to go?" Any of those combos will work. The bigger the engine the less strain on it to do the same amount of work. If money is no object, the LS7 with a twin turbo setup would be my choice. Look at your finances then go with the biggest engine you can comfortably afford.

the 402 with juice should easily put you deep in the 10s with good traction. i would probably get a 9 inch since you are an m6.

Money Money Money, how much do you want to spend????

A lot of your questions can't be answered as they will vary on final setup.

Personally I don't see the point of going for the biggest cube motor out there as you won't always get that much more power. I also personlly wouldn't go for a cast iron block engine either (I like the wieght saving of aluminium).

If you look at it like this, all the engines are essentially the same family and will generally acheive the same specific output.

FI is the way IMO as it allows you to run a higher specific output. I guess a LS2 based 402ci with either a centrifugal or a turbo would perform pretty darn well and over 600rwhp should be easy even on pump petrol. And it will be cheaper than a LS7 unit and still make more power. But even a well built 346ci should easily acheive some pretty impressive bhp numbers.

Thanks for the help guys, i mean the cheaper I can build it the better. But I am not going to buy shitty parts and slap something together. The Engine will be designed and built by me, Tyler VanLant and Brad VanLant. If Anyone races NHRA they might know him, He runs old mopars mostly 340 dusters. Brad bulids all of his own engines and other NHRA members engines. So the engine will be built by the best, the parts will be built by the best. I plan on spending about $10,000.00-$12,000.00 on the engine, and for the total project I plan that I will spend around $20,000.00

I want to keep the M6 because it is so damn fun. If it was an all out drag car it would be an auto with a massive stall. I would run a 9" but I can't find one with a speedo capabilities. I wish I could find out a way to transfer my speedo gear to the tranny.

A real revy motor with a turbo and a 6 speed would be a blast, especially on the top side.

You can go 10's on just Heads/Cam if you choose to as well...

Otherwise the 402 LS2 and juice will proboly be the most cost efficient way to do it.
