Default The fruits of Vengeance Racing's labor

Well, its been a long road getting the gremlins to leave me car the hell alone and it finally paid off.

pass number 1, was on BFG street tires and was a 12.4 at 120mph, obvious from the trap speed there was excessive wheel spin almost halfway down the track but i figured i try it on the street tires once.

pass number 2, was done with a tire change to 17 inch SS wheels with stock size M/T's on them, 11.1 at 122mph, good launch, not great, spun on the second gear shift.

pass number 3, lowered tire pressure, 11.04 at 122mph, terrible launch, the tires gripped so damn good that i basically got "bucked", i got tossed in the air out of my seat and my foot came off the pedal and the car looked as if it had bogged.

pass number 4, lowered tire pressure slightly, 11.54 at 120mph, spun bad off the line due to not staging in the groove of the track.

pass number 5, heated tires, carfully staged, 1 for the money, 2 for the show, 3 to get ready, and 4 to.... 10.94 at 124.30mph. .017 r/t (down here the tree is set to .000 for a perfect light), 1.51 60', 6.98 @98.69mph at the 1/8th mile mark.

Car is a fulll loaded full bodied 2002 Camaro that had a case of 6 gallons of coolant and a case of 12 quarts of tranny fluid that i forgot to remove from the trunk before i left the house, along with food and bevrages that were left in along with a ton of other crap from the long ride up to the track. I weigh 175 so the cars weight was probably closer to 3800lbs with me in it combined with the **** i didnt feel like cleaning out. these 5 passes were literally the first five passes ever in that car with the current set up that is in my signature. I would like to thank Vengeance Racing in ATL for a damn good job well done. in the end it was really worth goin through everything to have a whole f-body club that i was not apart of come up to me and just shower me with compliments. Thank a lot guys, i made the right choice goin with you guys.

Wow. What a story. I read it like a book on the edge of my seat. If I ever get any money, from a will or the Lotto or whatever, I'll want a set up just like that -- LS2 403 w/TFS heads from Vengence. Take all that junk out the truk next time!!!

Oh, do you have a graph?

just to let everyone know that was on a transmission that was well on its way to being a paper weight and very high stall converter, they damn thing wouldnt drop below 5600rpms on a shift. i would like to see what it puts down with the yank converter and RPM trans in there now.

RocketCutlass,

Our passes look very much alike. Where did you run the car? I grew up in Hoover, AL, small world. My parents still live there. A great little town. I may move back there someday.
