10s without drag suspension
I want a 10 second car, i figure if i can run 10s nothings going to touch me where im from. However, I will admit that my first priority is to have a car that handles well. I autox the car and i do enjoy that more than the 1320. So as my car sits right now, its got a suspension setup that is geared towards stiffening the chassis and improving handling characterisics. With that kindve suspension that isnt as geared towards a dead hook, should i even be dreaming of 10s?
On the bright side my car is fairly light already and only getting lighter, eventually i want to get it as close to 3000lbs raceweight as possible, but in all reality ill probably end up at 3150 or 3200lbs. Ill also be throwing a better rear end (with 4.10s) in within a year, and at that point my whole drivetrain will be able to take some serious abuse. Its making 430 at the wheels right now NA, I havent decided what im going to do with regards to power but the engine will probably be the last thing on my list of mods, but it is a street car so ill probably never try for anything past 500, 600 at most.
So, with that said, is it reasonable to try to break into the 10s on a non-drag setup suspension? For that matter, are there things that i can do that would be considered a drag oriented upgrade that wont affect my handling negatively?
Im well aware of the risk of grenading parts at that power level, and for that very reason im keeping my car off DRs and drag strips until I atleast have the money for a new rear end. Also waiting to do gears until I replace the rear end as well.

I run konis and take my front sway bar off at the track, I'm good for 10.8's at 130+ with a 1.5 60ft with 150 shot on my ls6. That's with konis and 315 bfg drag radials. I will have to do back to back runs with and without the front swaybar and see what happens.
Anyway, I say it can be done, just make sure your driveline is up to par.

I'm debating putting qal adjustable shocks on my car. I like konis, but I wouldn't mind adjustables if they really made an improvement, but I know I have to upgrade me rearend before I start trying to drop my 60ft.
