Default Cam only m6 w/vid!!!

I finally broke into the 11s. My car is a cam only m6 with all supporting mods, full suspension, and a little weight reduction. I know the car has alot more left in it with some minor tweaks and more seat time. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7c9pIsyWa30

Thanks, I'm going to get a launch controller before I take it to the track again. Hopefully that will help with the launch.

Congrats darren! It looked like you broke your seat mount on the launch

Yeah, I definately have to fix my seat bracket. It's no fun driving the car from the back seat.

Nice! Just watched your video and have some input.

- Tires look awfully hard. What PSI? Let them wrinkle some... I had best luck at 12 PSI
- Rake on the car. What's up with the downward front slope?
- Burnout. That was a short one! Did you get enough heat in the tires?

Thanks, the tires were at 10psi cold. The car sits pretty level with my street tires on it but it does have a slight rake when I have the 28" slicks on the rear. My burnout on that pass was short because my finger slipped off the momentary switch for my line-lock. Here is a pic of that launch. It was decent enough do break the car into the 11s but there is definately alot of room for improvement.

How do you like the 4.30s, I am thinking about going to them. Is your car driven on the street any?

I LOVE THEM!!! Yes my car is driven on the street alot. I went from 3.89s to 4.30s and the car drives 100 times better than it did with 3.89s. With 3.89s the car felt really sluggish down low and didn't really cruise around town very well. Now with the 4.30s it's a rocket down low and still pulls hard up top and cruising around town is much more enjoyable because the car is in a better rpm range. The car still drives very well on the highway too. At 80mph in 6th gear I'm only turning about 2100-2200rpm on my 26" tall street tires.

Thanks, yeah I think it has a little more left in it. I've done a little more weight reduction and I got a LPE 2step/launch controller. Hopefully it runs 11.7x or better next time out.

That launch was around 5500. I'll have the 2 step on the car next time at the track and I'll probably set it at 6000 and see what it will do.

he's launching to low .... he needs to come out at 6000 to get the most out of it

if a 6spd bogs there's not enough rpm

Yeah I totally agree. Doing 4.30s is one of the best mods I've done to my car so far.

Don't worry Tom I'll be launching higher than 5500 next time out. I've already got the LPE 2-step, now I just need to find some time to install it.

It's actually a 4" Mufflex system with the muffler removed. I usually have a Spintech muffler on it but it fell off 2 passes prior to my 11.99 pass. I think the car will go to the track with the muffler off from now on.
