I have tried both Nittos and MT ET Streets and give two thumbs up for the MT ET Steets. The MT just hook better, no doubt about it.

Nittos are a street drag radial, Mt's are a strip drag radial. Match your tire to your combo. If you have the drivetrain to support it then run the stickiest tire you can without bogging your motor. The normal option is a MT radial, assuming you have a built rearend or an auto. Stay away from it if you have a stick and 10 bolt.

I have found Hoosier drag radials to be the best if you are looking for STRICTLY strip performance. They are the lightest DR available and hook better than any other I have used. They also wear the fastest though. They are not for street use supposedly but as long as the weather is ok I have no issues with my 30 mile round trip to and from the track. Best 60' so far is a 1.556 with my bolt-on car.

this is crazy... On my TTMs, i had 315/35 Nittos STREET TIRES and my best time was an 12.3 @ 115. and I too make about the same HP as you i am at 420..

But this year i put on my 16s, got me some M/T ET Street DRs 255/50/16 and ran an 11.8 @ 119 jsut from a tire swap

Moral of the story.. get the tires

I have MT 295/50/16 (11.5" wide 28" tall), I have adjustable lower control arms, on the car adjustable pan hard bar and the front sway bar removed and I did a 1.59 60' in a six speed car.
