Has anyone run 11's on street radials???
I was hoping to pull this off with my '57 truck...6.0, 500hp, 3.42 gear, 3200 stall. Do I have a chance???

That is good to hear. It seems like I should get close then. I suspect that you would have a bit of a weight advantage compared to my truck.

When I was doing test n tune I had between 1/2 and empty.on fuel. After I had added to 3/4 a tank of fuel it was 3030 lbs. @ the track.

If you are talking mickey thompson street radials then yes you do

If you are talking all weather normal tires that you can purchase at sears then I gotta say your chances are very slim. The 60' on regular street tires tends to be north of 2.0 in most cases.

But in the end there is only one way to find out for sure. Do your best to feather a 1.9 60' and see what that gets you for an ET. And I agree with keeping more gas in your car if you are traction challenged. I found that I would 60' a lot better on 1/2 tank then I did at 1/4 or less. Sometimes the extra weight in the back helps.

I was referring to normal street tires. Thanks for the fuel (level) info. That is something I was trying to figure out...more is better the way it sounds (especially in the light rearend of a truck). I think my only other two (fairly easy) traction improvements are to remove the front sway bar and clamp the (front side) of the leaf springs together. I almost forgot...is it better to have the battery on the passengers side behind the rear axle??

On BFG KDW's i managed to cut three 1.80 sixty foots last time i was at the track, given the weather was horrible (3500+ DA) so the car was a little doggy. this was rolling into the throttle from idle with a 3000 vigilante and 3.23 gears. 3700 lb race weight. old *** drag shocks and LCA's (no relocation)
