Converter is killing it but it should pick up with a good tune.

Well I ran 12.2 with stock heads cam and ls6 intake... so i gained 3 tenths from H/C/I... just thought I would pick up more than that even untuned

Wow. What does the car weigh?

You're running around the same times as me in my tank. Get a tune man surely it will wake up some but if it's not really bad off I would be worried. What was the DA, maybe it was bad?

the car has no weight reduction so im guessing its around 3850 with me in it...the da was around 650 at the time of that run... also it will be tuned by june

no it has a street tune on it and tuned for the injectors...i know the converter is not great for my setup but it should be ok till i have to replace the stock tranny.. also whats crazy is i pulled a 1.73 60ft with stock H/C/I... and i pull a1.77 60ft with the new setup... so im thinking a dyno tune will get it running better and if it dont then something is not right with the motor, which i hope not

I agree with the rest of the guys. Find a good tuner and make plans to upgrade that converter to a 3600-4000 stall ,then hold on !!

Well what should I expect out of it being tuned with the 3200 stall? And then say a 4000 stall?

she really needs to be tuned. Your mph for a head cam car should be in the 120-125mph range. You mph is a cam only mph so she deff needs some tuning help. If you stepped up to a 4000 stall the way you sit you will probably be in the 1.5 60' range and the way you sit with a 1.5 60' should drop you right to an 11.6 pass. then get her tuned and drop into the lower 11's. Dont be dissappointed with her until everything is worked out.

let me state that you can't just put a 4000 stall in the way she sits either. She will need to have the shift points changed other wise you will be bagging off the rev limiter every shift. so put the a bigger stall in and get her tuned lol

The 3200 stall won't keep your cam in it's powerband like a 4000 stall would. With a 4000, you should be in the 11.6-11.3 et area at 116-121mph at most. Once it is re-tuned with a new 4000 stall and shift points adjusted to at least 6600 or 6700rpms, you will see and feel a big difference.

car needs a tune. a friend of mine picked up 7 mph from a tune with his cam only a4 car. the car had a driveability tune on it beforehand, but no wot tuning.

as said before, get at least 4k (i'd go 4400) stall and real tune on the car, it will pick up huge.

yea it really does need WOT tuning... i hope i can pick up a good bit like your friend did... also i think a 4400 stall woud be a lil much imo... i really think a 4k would be plenty... you just dont see many cars that are street driven with a 4400 or bigger converter.....but its no where near considered a daily driver lol... ive put maybe 500 miles on it this year... and about 8k on it last year

I feel you need bigger injectors and a bigger fuel pump.

I am in a similar situation, my car has prc 2.5 5.3 heads, torquer v2, 1 7/8" long tubes, stock gears, fast 92/92, and 3800 stall. I expected 11.5 I had similar da to you as well but car ran 11.75 at 116. I think the mph on both of our cars is low. I too need a tune. When I got the car it had heads and cam but the tune was fair at best. It also had Mac midlengths and 2 1/4" exhaust. I took the exhaust off put the long tubes on and put a fast 92/92 in place of the ls6. I have to retune retune the car.

Quick Reply: well im in the 11s with the AFR 205s
