I agree with you! A stock LS1 F-Body with bolt on's (no heads or cam) can't produce enough HP to run in the 11 second range. But then again,if I said my pig can fly. There would be plenty of dudes out there claiming their pig could fly higer and faster than mine. It just goes to show that all bullshit is relivent.

depending on suspension, tires, axle, gearing, weight reduction, and driver all come into effect when wanting to run a fast time.

I went 11.84 @ 117.19 cam only on sunday. I did pull a 1.58 60' time in a 6sp car with a road racing suspension. My car is full weight and I want to keep it that way. I need more seat time. I see that seat time is the best mod for a driver. If you know your setup and have a lot of passes on it then you are going to be consistant and fast.

I went 11.78 @ 116 with a TR230. Full weight bolt-ons and 4:10's.

I don't know what my weight is. The car has everything still in it minus floor mats, jack and spare tire. I'm not a big guy either; I only weigh about 155lbs.

My 60' was a 1.60 (100% stock suspension and ET Streets)

I guess a good 60' is really the key. LOL! I'm still perfecting the 60' "mod".

Pushing an M6 car to a magazine article perfect 60' is a lot of finess I'm finding out. Guess I need to perform the "seat time" mod and maybe I'll shave a tenth or so off my 60'.

Cam-only, 11.3s. See mods. Your stall is too low for starters and you need MUCH higher gears than that! Plus, it is all about the RIGHT combo.

man, 12.5 with 2.73 are pretty respectable man. do some suspension and some headwork, and u should be maybe high 11's.. i have 2.73 and might keep those gears for awhile..

Stock heads and cam, no power adder.....

And I'm not knocking what you're doing.....just showing it can be done. I sported the 2.73's for a long time myself. You can go plenty fast with those gears and still get great gas mileage on road trips.

Yeah well maybee 4 out of the 50 say they are 3600 which is still not full weight!

Ful weight or not it has been done. I don't consider pulling the spare and jack out a major weight reduction. Many have hit 11's with just the those being removed. Personally I ran 11's with full interior, stock wheels, and only weight being removed was spare tire/jack. I guess it doesn't count if you only have a 1/4 tank of gas in too?

Besides.....the original question was about cam only cars hitting 11's. So....add 10 to 15lbs (so it's stock weight) and a cam and I think it's possible.

I think the ones that are calling BS either
1. Don't have the weather/track to hit those times
2. Haven't been around these cars very long
3 Just pissed off because they can't get their heads and cam 400HP cars out of the 12's.

people who want to call bs should really do their research. or better yet, lets get all these people who think that these cars don't do 11's SI altogether and lets go street racin' eeeeeeeaaaassy money.

I ran 11.90@115 two years ago with a 224 Comp Cam, stock suspension, TCI 3500, and Pace Setter headers. What made the biggest difference was the Texas Speed computer tune.
