I hit my first 11 second pass in my car last week. Mod list is in sig but basically the car has full bolt ons, fast 90, 4400 stall, M/T 255/50R16 drag radials and a 236/240 112 lsa streetsweeper cam. Track is 900 feet above sea level and temp was in the 50's.
I had several 12.0-12.2 passes while I tried to find traction. Then I finally dialed in the right launching teqnique and ran three 11.9's. The best being 11.93 @ 114.40 on a 1.68 60'.
The car dynoed low at 354 rwhp unlocked. And the track times were at least 3 tenths slower then what we were expecting. But the cam builder said my 3.23's are killing me. He recommended 4.10's and a 6700 shift point. Said I can expect to lose 4 tenths with those two changes.
4.10s were ordered Monday, arrived yesterday and will hopefully be installed in time for tomarrow nights Test N Tune at NYIRP. I'll update the new times when I get them

They were at 6500 but on the recomendation of the cam builder we are setting them at 6700. I'll be back at the track tonight with the 4.10 gears and 6700 shiftpoints. Weather should be in the mid sixties and sunny

The results are in! I'm a lot happier then I was a week ago but I feel the car is still under powered for it's mods. Last week my best pass was 11.93 @ 114.40 on a 1.68 60'. The air at the end of the night tonight was identical because my buddy with the 98 formula ran the exact same time tonight as he did last week.
I arrived late and only got three runs in. First run I figured my traction problems would be the same if not worse so I went with a 1500 rpm brake stall and 3/4 throttle rolling into full throttle. Hooked but it was too soft and my pass was 12.0 @ 114.3 on a 1.86 60'.
Second pass I decided to stall up to 1500 and go full throttle. I dead hooked and hit a 11.83 @ 114.75 on a 1.61 60'.
Third and final pass. My buddy ran a 11.9 @ 113.8 a few cars ahead of me in line. This was exactly his best ET and trap from last week so at this point conditions were identical to my previous best (11.93 @ 114.80). I stalled it up to 2800 and floored it on the third yellow. The results:
R/T---.633
60'---1.621 (lifting the front tires 2" or so)
330---4.813
1/8---7.505
MPH--91.48
1000--9.816
1/4---11.764
MPH--115.80
So the 4.10 gears matched with this cam dropped me about .2 in ET and gained me 1.4 MPH in trap speed. I expected a tad more ET loss but over all I am satisfied with the results. But if I keep lifting my tires, even a few inches, and I can kiss my 10 bolt good bye
