ran my 01 ss mbm m6 for the first time
not sure if i should be dissapointed or not ??
just expected it to run a better time.
this car is bone stock with 50k miles accept for lid and bellow.
first pass with drag radials and bad burnout it went 13.7 at 102 with
a 2.2 60 ft spinning....
2nd , third and 4th passes were a 13.5 at 103.4 with a 2.085
60 ft.... hooking really hard but then smoking the clutch in first....
i thought it would be a 12.90 to 13.0 car stock.
anyways..... i am in the middle of doing a turbo350 swap with a 3400
vig. converter...... hopefully i can do better next time out.
oh..... and i am from phoenix,az where the air density is nasty.......

down my window to grab my time slip.
Bone stock LS1 camaros or trans am are very very very hard to get into the 12's even with slicks... hell ive never seen a c-5 hit 12's at fire bird or speed world.
The times you posted on your car are nice. what size stall do you wanna go with. ? is your car a daily driver or strickly track.

man those times aren't bad at all, sure there are some ls1's that get into the 12's stock but most wont. when i had full boltons and a tune i still wasn't in the 12's so dont feel bad, plus you are at a pretty high elevation in air that isn't the best
well.... thanks for the pep talk guys.... i had a buddy telling me these
should run 12.80's stock and never expected 2.2 60fts out of a 6 speed..... thats one of the reasons i bought one...
but i love the car..... so i guess i'll get over it..lol

Im not trying to **** talk anyone... but ive been around F-BODYS soiled for 10 years now... and since the 98 an above LS1 camaro or trans am... I dont know where people are getting these times of 12's.. If ls1's were that fast bone stock everyone would be driving one or would have bought one.
I roll up next to alot of ls1's on the street alone and they dont keep up stock or bolt ons or not.
I guess what im saying is. From what ive seen with my own eyes, on top of what every car manufcturer, car magazine, at the track. LS1's camaros and trans ams are not 12' bone stock cars. Even with slicks.

" This is a list of what STOCK cars run from 1970 and up " the times on this list are similar to car and driver, motor tread , and so on. Keep in mind the people who test new cars wether is a 96 lt1 or a 2002 ls1 are professional drivers who test 0--60 1/4 brakeing you name it. It just gets really old for people to say well i have a stock ls1 and it runs 12's "cough bullshit cough" and when they test new cars they dont run them with slicks, 1/4 tank 100 octain 70 degrees out " They test cars out in real conditions.

If you came up to Michigan your times would be faster,
You probably need a clutch too.
My car all stock with 3.73 gear / auto / slicks went 13.25 @ 107
and that was on a 75 - 80 degree day this summer.
Now the car should be a little quicker since the temps are going down.

why is it .... when new cars come out they are tested over and over and over and they give out the times of what they run... yet everyone online always says there car is faster then it is... its just funny to me
