Default Anyone in 12's with.......

an engine without LT's, Stall, or LS6 intake? List your mods please. With better tires are 12's possible with my current set up?

Well, I have an LS6 intake, but it wasn't a choice for me. Still I think I would be 12s without it.

You probably wouldn't need tires if you didn't have 3.73s. If you can find a track with awesome track prep you could probably runs 12s as is. If not, a pulley would get you there easily.

And not only that but I've seen you talk about running low 12s with only 313rwhp, but your MPH would suggest 335-340 rwhp. Hell, my car with 313rwhp/325rwtq was turning 107 MPH. It seems that your dynoing on a very stingy dyno.

Haha, my bad. I completely disregard the word WITHOUT.

Let's see, w/o LS6 intake/MT ET tires, I ran consistenly 12.6-12.7s. W/O the Stall/gear, I ran consistenly 13.0-13.2s. W/O longtubes/true duals, I ran 13.5s. I hope those gave you some idea.

I guess, that's what a stalled auto will do on dyno numbers. I ran 107-108s also when I had 12.7 ETs w/o LS6 intake/MT et drag radials.

I am in the 12's without all three of those items. Stock motor with some suspension parts does it for the LT1, and surely should for the LS1.

It's kind of hard to leave on the rev limiter (like you did), with a stock stalled A4. That's the whole point of a converter. This isn't a discussion for manuals cars.

A couple of things here. First what was the DA when you ran 107mph. Second leaving on the limiter would you would be averaging more power to the ground for most of the track over. What kind of MPH do you get when you run on regular tires?

The point was if Bene has a FRA, !screen, ported TB, MAF ends, and full exhaust over what I had when I made 313rwhp, then he should be making more.

I have done some 1/8 mile passes on the 315 drag radials and gone 82.xx mph. As a matter of fact the first time I got this car to the track with a CAI and cat-back, I was 13.8x @ 102 on a 235/245 street tire. I have ONLY added suspension since then. That is really all I was trying to express, it is not JUST power that make our cars fast, it must be usable power for the good timeslip. And I'm not sure what the DA was, it is not a concern of mine, kinda like the dyno #'s.

102 is more representative of the power that you are making. And actually the power really is why our cars are fast. Any dipshit with a Mustang or whatever can run a slick and dump the clutch on the limiter and turn a good time.

So keep on running your slicks and leaving on the limiter and I'll keep running my Coopers and leaving off idle.

That's the most ******* retarded thing I've heard all day. DA directly effects the performance of your car. That's not my opinion, it's a goddamn fact. I understand that dyno number CAN having nothing to do with track times, but the DA absolutely does.

The DA at your track can very 5000' over a 6 month or less period. That's more than a half of a second difference in your time. When you change or add stuff to your car, it is a very important part of know which direction your going with your mods.

Have you seen the dyno machine that was used? I have a video of it in my FQUICK link. FWIW, it was on a mobile dyno, enclosed, no fans and through my STALLED AUTO. Also, when I dynoed my car, within that week I went to Memphis and drove the car for 20+ track runs, hotlapping it. I got a best of 12.2 @ 110 timeslip by the end of the day.

For the OP, you should get high 12s w/ gears and MT ET streets.

No, I got you. I was just arguing my point with him. You were just dynoed on an off the wall dyno that really can't be compared to others. Not saying that you can with any of them, but even less so with that.

To the OP just take it to the track and see what you run. That's the best way to know if what your doing to your car is helping.

Ok fellas help me out a little bit, what is DA? My next round of mods are STB, Panhard, LT's, Pulley, ls6 intake, and 3200 stall, and possibly a used set of ls6 heads. I already have new shocks/struts and lca's and sfc's....any guess as to where i'd be with adding those mods and a solid launch? I'm in Minot ND

Such a mouth.
DA has absolutely NOTHING to do with the three first and two second place trophies and checks that I brought home this year.

Obviously not since everyone there had the same DA. But when you run somebody for some money because you know all their car has is 13.0s and you got 12.87. But what you don't know is that the other car went 13.0 in 3000' DA and yours was in 500'. So in the same DA you're gonna lose some money.

It's a good thing you don't race around here, I'd put you on the trailer in the first round. Heads up, dial in, index, you name it and I got you covered.
