Hopefully they won't cancel this weekend, Saturday looks dry all day but cool high of around 42 to 47 degrees. Hope they don't cancel because of "too cold"...
I plan on being there Saturday, and will try the flash method for my first launch, will know right away if the track is going to hold or not.
If you make it up, stop by and say hi.

You should be able to get low 13’s with your mods you have. On my new car last night I ran 12.84@ 106 with it. It’s brostock as I’ve been told recently. The only mods it has is a slp lid, nt05r tires (275/40/17’s) and ewp. That’s it. 3650-3700 raceweight. The car is completely stock other than those mentioned above. I have been footing braking up to 12-1300. High 1.8 60’s.

It’s ALOT different than my last car, but it’ll come around. Keep tinkering and testing, you will hit your goals.

Default Getting close...

1st run of 2018, air temps in the mid 40's (was told D/A -680 ft), home-brewed "tune" via HPTuners, and still on stock street tires. 13.085 @ 106.55. Corrected for Negative DA; 13.15 @ 105.88 over 7 passes (Dragtimes web site DA Correction Calc).
Backed up with 13.10, 13.11, etc...
Launched at 1200 RPM gave best results, although 2.047 60' is a bit off my best of 2.00 for today. The tune really woke it up.
Plenty of mods still to be done, so 12's are easily in reach, even Drag Radials will get me into the 12.80-12.90 range.

Couple questions for you;
1) Do you recommend the NT-05 DR's over the 555 DR's? Any particular why there better?
2) What is the "ewp" you mentioned?

Haven't weighed my car, but it should be about 3440, and I weigh 165 so... race weight is roughly 3600 - 3610
With DR's I'd think we'd have a great heads-up race!

The Nt05R is light years better than the 555R glorified street tire.

I've had both the NT05R and 555R. The NT05R is quite a bit better for sure

Thanks guys, will stay away from the 555r's.

Side question...
Anyone know about what the max Stall Speed on a stock A4 Torque Converter?
I know my street tires won't hold much past 1600 before the tires break loose. So I'm wondering with the Nitto NT05R Drag Radials what the Stall Speed will be?
And then would it better to Power Brake and launch, or go off-idle and let the Torque Converter flash?

Thanks for the input and advise, much appreciated.

Stock converter stall is 1800 rpms. Best 60' I could get with exhaust and 2.73's was 2.0 on stock converter and radials. You very well may get 1.9x

1. Yeah you are better off with the NT05’s over the 555’s.

2. Electric water pump

are you still on stock exhaust manifolds? if so, install the headers. I gained a few mph after I installed my headers and a bit of retuning.

I would do the new mickey dr over a 555r or the nt05. M&h is a better dr to. I really wasn't that impressed with the nt05.

From what I've seen the best drag radial seems to be the Hoosier, but of course they wear the fastest

I thought he was wanting a more streetable tire. Which kinda eliminates the hoosier and the mickey pro.

Yes, the stock manifolds are still in place.... for now.
Trying to get the headers installed by May, possibly sooner. I agree, the headers and the OR-Y should be good for 3 mph or better.

Default Streetable, but...

True, except if I can pick up a spare set of rims, either lightweight front rims, or stock 17" x 9" for the rear. I'll go with a more aggressive tire. Had M&H's back in the late 80's (giving away my age here... 55 btw). And other than rain, puddles not bad. But having a spare set to swap and race on... M&H or Hoosiers, (had them in the past too).

If you go to a slick it opens up a few more options, but for a drag radial it sure seems like Hoosier grips best. At least in the bigger wheel sizes from what I've seen

Okay, go ahead and tell me more; Costs, Options... I understand I can go with a tire shorter than the stock 25.7" to increase my effective gear ratio. Rims?
Slicks pricing?

You'll have to look prices up on your own obviously. All I'm saying is the Hoosiers dr's I've seen with a low profile sidewall (like on 17's and 18's) seem to stick better than other dr's in the same profile

Backed up with 13.10, 13.11, etc... Launched at 1200 RPM gave best results, although 2.047 60' is a bit off my best of 2.007 for today. The tune really woke it up.
Looking to make it to Mason-Dixon on Saturday the 24th for another round of cool weather (Negative DA) Test & Tune in hopes of a 12.99 or better on street tires.
Looks like I'll unhook the sway bar if not drop it completely for the day for weight transfer. Pump the front tires to reduce rolling resistance, pull out the spare tire & jack, floor mats. Empty the washer fluid. Maybe give the HPTuner Tune a tweak; bump timing a degree. That and DA forecast at -500 to -900 ft. should all combine to get me in the 12's.

Sure, I've got the Headers, OR-Y, DLS2 Intake & 92mm Throttle body to install over the new few months, which will keep me in the 12's even in less favorable air. And the Drag Radials are always an "easy button" option to pull the trigger on! But really want that 12 on street tires!
