Default 02 Z in the 12's

My 02 Z 6 speed went 12.85@113. I made a custom F/G hood with a NACA duct for cold air induction. It shaved about 30# off the car. I also had a descreened MAF, lid and deleted the muffler. I was on street rubber so my 60' was a 2.22.

Did you drop the hole cat-back? Any other weight reduction? So a hood and !cat-back is about 70lbs shaved. Nice time. I too have a 12 sec. silver 02Z.

Not the entire cat-back, I just replaced the muffler with 3" pipe out to the rear passenger side. I forgot to mention taking out the spare and running 1/8 tank of fuel.

I made my hood extra light, I'll bet it's only 15lbs. The NACA duct seemed to get the cold air flowing once up to speed. Now that my stock hood is back on, it feels like a pig.

I also speed shifted and went a tad past 6K in each gear. I found that when I hold 3rd up to 6200 or so, the trap is higher and ET is lower.

Great times, especially the trap.
