Me too! Are you sure there is no cam in the car? Are you the first owner? Maybe you have rockers in there or something. Or maybe you just have a freek. Gears will net you 11s for sure.

340 rwhp? Are those numbers current? Going 12.0 in a 340 rwhp M6 is almost as amazing as trapping 117 mph. Was the track's timing system working right? Do you know your raceweight?

NICE RUNS!

What did you remove to get that raceweight down?

just curious cause mine's a pig at 3695 with driver. I need to cut some also and it's not coming off the driver, hahaha.

I knew people would have a hard time with these numbers and they are certainly well above average for the mods but the car and time slips are legit, unless like some others have implied the previous owner snuck a small cam and/or gears in there but this is highly unlikely.
Congrats again Brandon.

Awesome! I'll have to pull that stuff out next time I head to the track. No skinnies just yet but after this summer I should be able to afford real track shoes to fit the 12-bolt I'm planning.

None of that's going on the car until I get some consistant respectable (1.9) 60's though. I need to practice my driver mod before I do the rest.

Thanks for the help!

I think if you raise your shift points that will do the trick. Do you still have the stock tune? If you do maybe that should be your next modd. It will give you some more HP and you can raise your shift points so you don't have to shift to 4th. A set of ASP pully's will do the trick also.Or a E/ water pump. Or you can do the E/water pump and run a deep cell batt. and in the stageing lanes disconnect the belt and run no belt and on the return road stop and put your belt back on so you can charge it back up till the next run. Any of those should give you a tenth.

my buddy just changed my shift points to 6400

I was previously running the stock limiter at 6200, and my shift light was set to 6k so i was shifting quite fast in order not to hit the limiter.

Keep playing with raising your shift points till you don't have to shift into 4th. Atco is a great track, don't expect those times if you go to E-town or Island. I'm waiting till I get everything working perfect on my car then I'm gonna make a trip to atco(3 hour ride for me) to get my new best NA and on spray. Once I get everything dialed in I'm hopeing for a 11.0-10.9 NA and then play with my NOS set up.10's will be no problem on bottle so the real goal would be to break into the 9's spraying with a stick. My car is still stock weight so I could drop some real weight and get into the 9's but I still want to be in street trim so I will leave that for a last resort.11's are a lock for you.Anyone one of those other modds I listed for ya should get you a 11 second pass on evert try. I'm switching to running no belt this year cause I got a e/water pump. Since my sig I have done a Lanes 3" true dual with bullets,FAST 90mm intake, Nick williams 90mm TB,85mm MAF,HS 1.7 roller rockers,LM-1 wideband o2,hptunners software, rear drag shocks,K-member,lower A-arms,skinnies up front and a 6point roll bar.I went 11.5 without all that stuff at E-town,atco will give me a tenth just running there so all my changes have to get me a full 4-5 tenths for me to be at my goal. Like I said before my car is still full weight-3700lbs. with me in it.I might have to start shaving weight to meet my goal but thats only if all else fails. I have seen people get these cars down to 2800-3000 lbs. I can't imagine what my car would do at that weight

can you post your other runs 12.1 and 12.2

including 1/8th et/mph and 60's

i think with a little lower 60's you could easly go 11's

I don't dought your skills or times. I just think 117 is a little high for SI. Even at that weight. Even power shifting won't net those numbers. Maybe 115 maybe. With your 60, I am guessing the gears are stock. But there must be rockers in there or something. No point in shifting higher than 6K. The motor drops off at 5800. If you are still making power and getting better times by doing this, then you are not SI.

the mph is high becase of the stock gears and shifting into 4th gear. Raising his shiftpoints will make it so he can ride 3rd threw the traps. He will have lower mph with a quicker E.T. Don't beleive what you hear about the engine dropping off at 5800. I would rev my car to about 6800 when it was all stock. It was all track proven results that raisng my shifts points got me better ET's.

Then he will risk bending push rods. Not a great idea.

It was awhile ago but I think I was shifting at 6600-6700 with no problems going threw the traps in 3rd.The engine then only had about 700 miles on it. Still under 2000 miles now. He's one good 60ft. away from a 11 second pass. How bout cutting out the ducts in the hood so it is a true ram air and running no filter. My HO hood ducts were cut out before it went on the car. You should be able to look threw your duct to your air box with them cut out

Good idea. How about the BG ram air kit? I don't know if he will be able to 60 any better with those gears.

Definitely, but that is the problem, the car is lowered (very low in the nose with the skinnies on) and on an 18" drag radial (almost no sidewall) so improving his sixties with the current set up is going to be tough.

He fabbed up this pretty cool 'home made' ram air deal that doesn't look like much but I know it has helped him for sure...I'd bet it alone was worth roughly a tenth and 1mph.
