I would be surprised if you make it. Not trying to be negative, just honest. Lets see, youve got a lid,k&n,LTs,Y,wires, flows, and a cut out. If i had to guess, i would say in the heat you would probably run 13.1s maybe 13.0s. On a cool night i think it should be 12.9s maybe 12.8s. My advice is get a stall. Then youll be running mid 12s easy.

No offense pal seriously but what does that have to do with times? Unless your filter was good and clogged I don't see the relavence. Anyway, have you ever ran the car before?? What was your best time? With what you have I'd say probably no. Sorry. But who knows, maybe with a dead hook you'll be there. Good luck man.

1st run ith decent traction
R/T .... .538
60ft ... 2.130
330ft . 5.725
1/8 .....8.645
MPH ... 85.00
1000ft .11.170

I'd get a stall b/f I got a cam. With a 3400-3600 stall you will gain about .5 sec. in the 1/4. Fuddle makes one that's pretty good. They are a sponser---->>>

Im not too much of a drag racer im more of a street driver, so for me i would like a cam for 2 reasons, around here people dont really ask about the tranny its ALL about the HP, 2nd Soon i will be converting it to a 6-speed to no tranny work will be done anytime soon.

But a converter is cheaper and easier to install

Plus you won't "need" a tune with the converter unlike the cam.

Either mod works though

I don't know what you mean by "street racing", that isn't a good idea anyway. But I have to agree with the others. You can put a cam in the car and get smoked by someone with a convertor. I have the same mods on my 6-speed and running 12.8. I think you would have a mid 12 car with traction and a convertor. Seems you would rather pummel someone on the street with a stock motor then lose to them with a cam.

Converting to a 6 speed? Sounds like a lot of useless work to me. I know how street racers think,I used to be one. You want a 6 speed just so you can tell people "yeah its a 6 speed" Cause if you say its an auto you know theyll say "an auto? nah man you gotta have a stick" And anybody that says that doenst know anything anyway. In a stock ls1,an auto with a stall will rip apart a 6 speed anyday. I believe you want the cam for the same reason. STREET APPEAL,thats all it is. You want people to think your faster than you really are, cause on the street theres no way of really knowing. My chevelle used to cam its *** off and it got more attention than anything. None of the ricers would even look my way cause they heard my chevelle loping like hell on the way in. But dont think a big cam will save you from humiliation. One night,I raced a civic hatchback. Remember I had a low 11 sec. chevelle(best mph was 134). It was capable of 10s.(couldnt get the e.t. down) He beat me by 2 cars! Then some idiot thought i would be funny to run across the road as we were coming. And at 145mph, he got sideways and hit a pole. Car had a roll cage,so he wasnt seriously hurt. That was the last time i street raced anybody. Seeing that wreck first hand opened my eyes. Race at the track. Accidents are less likely there and ambulances are on the scene.

Actually my buddy had a converter and he told me he didnt like it that much for a daily driver. I drive my car everyday to school and work and back. SVTKILLAR- Your right about that street appeal thing, i live in the Bay Area and thats a huge thing around here. You tell a guy your pushing close to 400hp or over 400hp he wont even try to race. I understand a converter will probably give me same or even better results but i just love know i have 400hp. Also i mad a deal with my parents. Im 19 and im on a tight budget. I told them once i hit 400hp im done modding it. After the cam is when i will make my FINAL decision- Converter or 6-Speed? Anyways my parents will pay for any tranny work so i want to put my money towards HP.

You live in the Bay area.Where at? Also you will need more then a cam to get 400, you will need a LS6 intake, ported TB and I recomand some 30LB injector's because you won't get to much out of those 26LB stock injector's.Oh yea and also a good size cam.

He said 400HP, he didn't say 400RWHP. My car is close to 400HP at the crank without even having a cam change. I think a car with stock heads and the right cam could do 400RWHP.

Here is a problem that you probably did not think about if you are getting a cam. If you get a large cam; you will need a good size stall to get everything out of that cam. The theory is like this, If you get a cam you need to up your stall for an auto, if you get a cam in a 6 speed you need to up your rearend gear ratio. And you would need one large *** cam to get you 400 rwhp and a hell of a tune. If you go the cam route for the cam, install, and tune you will be around $1500 easy but not get a whole lot out of the cam because your torque convertor stall is so small. And with a large cam the driveability sucks. You get a stall, like the one I have the TCI Super Street Fighter 3500, its $500 for the stall and about $250 for the install, The most you will spend is $750.00 If you do that you will feel the stall. But believe me you get use to it. Hell I forget I even have one. Here is what happened to me I got the 3500 stall went from 13.1 to 12.6 got the cam and went from 12.6 to 12.3. You would be foolish getting the cam now.

Sorry about the novel I just wrote. Just letting you know from my experience
