68 Camaro LS 6 speed 12.77 at 111
Went to the Texas Motorplex sunday for the Texas Musclecar Club Challenge. My first pass I got my goal with a 12.93 at 109 witha 2.23 sixty. On my 4th pass I hit a 2.11 sixty, eight was 8.33 and qtr was 12.77 at 111. Pretty obvious that I am leaving alot of et at the line. I am looking for suggestions to now get my car quicker with the goal of hitting the 11's. Car is not set up for drag racing as it is lowered all the way around and is a pro-touring style car. No traction aids on rear, swaybar disconnected, and on old BFG drag radials. Here is the writeup for my car.
Basically all 98 Camaro parts (heads, intake, manifolds, pulleys) except the 6.0 truck block and 218 cam untuned. I have egr, o2, misfire codes in computer.
Weighed 3,450 with full tank of gas and me in it. I love the power these motors make and want to make more. Is there any consensus as to what bolt ons should be done that work or a word from the wise about what doesn't? Of course I am looking for bang for the buck other than nitrous right now. I am also looking for a good tuner in the DFW, Texas area.

It was nice to meet you at the track. Glad we all meet our goals and did'nt break any parts. As you can see this is my handle on most of the boards. Your car can run 11's with cal trac traction bars a gear change, M/T drag radials, headers and a LS6 intake. A 4.10 would be enough but 4.56 would be better.

Danny,
I had a good time and enjoyed talking with you. Good to see someone else happy to get in the 12's. I am looking into the things you mentioned. And will be even happier when I get into the 11's which I feel isn't as far away as my current et indicates. Take car of that beautiful C6. By the way-how did you end up doing after I left?

I got a red light in the fourth round but ran a 12.65 at 111.65 on a 2.01 60'. I got down to 5 cars. On a good weather day the drag radials the gear and the cal track bars will get you an 11. I would go with the 4.56 as it is still a 2.28 in 6th so on the hiway will still be comfortable. You should be able to pull off some 1.60 60' which would get you real close to your goal.

Congrats, nice times, but there's a lot left.
I agree on the caltracs, headers and sticky tires. All 3 of these tuned right should get you much closer to the 11's, as the trap speed is close to what you need.
Good luck!

I will be getting some Caltracs but my front springs are really killing me as they have zero upward travel. May have to swap springs for some really good times. With some new tires and a few boltons I think I can get into the 11's though I am considering a power adder which would put me there easy. Thinking of having a custom turbo added since a custom set of headers would be about the same price.
I am going to attempt to send a pic.
