I have a lid test article from GMHTP where they went from 13.1 @ 108mph runs (on a supposively stock car) to 12.9 @ 110mph with a lid only. Food for thought.

They tested like half a dozen different lids and all but a couple got the car a 12.9 pass with 110mph.

well guys, my 10 bolt is busted! my carrier started making noise a couple days before, but i went anyway. i finally made it to the dragstrip. i made 3 passes 7 1/2 hours. we got to tulsa dragstrip at 2pm made 1 pass and had to wait for them to clean up a 2 wrecks. then made 2 more before they closed. it was horrible! my best run was a 13.3@106mph i have never been so disappointed in my life. i couldn't hook up until the end of third gear. i had to keep letting off the gas to catch traction in first, second, and third. i barely made it home on my popping, clanking rearend. my car is now parked at the shop i work at and will not be moving until i save enough money for a moser 9inch. i bought cheap beatup old s10 to get me around until then. this sucks! i miss my car!!!!!!!!!

congrats on the runs man, sry for the breakage =(

but yea i was lookin for my slips cause i wanted to scan them and show u guys my passes the first week i had my car. i was just shy of breakin 12's but my traps were around 110-113, the one pass i got good traction and i got a good reaction time i hit a 13.07 @ 113, i have the video on my camera just no way to put it on the pc cause my girl lost the cord =P
i also have a few of noyzees runs on there too haha, but yea good luck with your car =)

edit:
i was having the same problems u were having but i was still spinning some of 4th, so i started playin around and i found the best launch was at 1200 rpm and shifting to second at about 5100 then gettin fully on it and stayin in it it hurt my trap a lil but got my ET down.

still havent been able to afford the 9inch due to an $850 speeding ticket so i just took some of my buddy's spare parts and rebuilt my 10bolt. this is just temporary so i would have something to drive. after breaking two 10bolts in my truck and two in my car i could probably rebuild one with my eyes closed. i hate 10bolts!

keep us up to date on this freak
I though that trap was too high for a stock car also. But think about what he did a second. He cut out the muffler. Most people that get catbacks gain 7-10 rwhp. What they don't know is the factory pipes are 2.75" stainless steel and mandrel press bent. By upgrading to 3" pipes you gain very little on a stock motor. So where is the 7-10 RWHP gain coming from? The new high flow muffler. The stock muffler is extremely restrictive and by replacing it with a magnaflow, bullet, hooker, ect you open up the flow and gain HP.

So by cutting out the muffler he basically made himself a homemade cutout. The only difference is he can't close it. So besides saving a little weight he also gained 7-10 rwhp. That unfortunately made his car NOT stock at the time of the runs. But that in no way takes away from the fantastic times. For a cutout only car that is extremly good for 60', ET and trap.

Nice runs and I hope you get the car up and running with a 12 bolt soon!

i never claimed to have 330hp. i put down 325.6RWHP and 339.9RWTQ. yes, that is rare but very possible for a stock LS1. if you choose not to believe it then that is your problem.

Here's a little food for thought. My stock 2002 Z/28 did a 8.12 at 88 mph on a 1.95 60'. Stripper with free ram air and Hurst shifter.

it will be warm soon so the strip will be opening up. i still dont have the cash for a 9inch so i guess i'll just throw drag radials on the 10bolt and see wat happens. even if i go home on a trailer i should be able to get in a few runs. all i need is one run better than a 12.9 so i can finally feel better about last season.
