Default Disappointed, 12.611 @ 109.58

Went to the track last friday and ran a 12.611 @ 109.58 with a 1.892 60 ft. I'm not sure why my times are so bad, I was expecting more based on what I've seen for my mods. The air was descent it was about 60 degrees that night and didn't feel to humid...

Hmm, 60ft time isn't too bad, could be better.. I'd think you'd hit a high 11 with that setup...

(on a side note, why run TR6 plugs? The TR55 would be better for a all motor setup)

I was thinking the same thing, I was really wanting a 12.10-12.20 consindering it was the first time to the track with this car...

As for the plugs, I got them for free from my buddy and have never even thought about changing them.

poor 60'. to simplify things, you'll need stock snowflakes and 16" m/t et street drag radials to cut the 60' you need to run 12.2 in a bolt-on a4 car. i made many a pass before i dug into the 12.2s with mine. i started @ 12.9 and wittled my way down with just seat time to dead consistent 12.29-12.25 passes on an unprepped track on the 'street' nights. just takes time and a decent wheel/tire combo.

oh..yeah, i read your sig, but overlooked the cam. yeah...that car probably needs a good tune and tires. you should easily go 11.6 with that cam.

I know I need tires but I'm running some 555r's so traction isn't terrible and it has been tuned so...I'm just trying to figure out why my times aren't where I think they should be.

ditch the 555r tires. go with a bfg dr or m/t et street dr. that will at least get your 60' where it should be. as far as the trap speed, i dunno. check the simple stuff - plugs, o2 sensors, maf clean, etc..

here are a couple slips from my bolt-on car for comparison.

Well I changed my plugs and inspected the maf and am going to the track next friday to see if that helps and I hope the weather will be cooperating as well.

I live in shawnee and that night I was at Noble. On the dyno it made 355 rwhp through the 3500 stall and 3.73's, Glen Lipinski is the guy who tuned it I don't know if you've heard of him but that's what it made, torque was around 350 as well.

Werd, esp. for having a cam. I trapped 112.54 best with just bolt ons and a conservative N20 tune. Mid to upper 111 in the heat of the summer was the norm. A friend of mine w/ full bolt ons and a small cam was doing 115-116 in good air.

Is your home track at an extremely high elevation? Something just doesn't add up.

From what i've seen the elevation is 1,194 ft.

The plugs looked decent maybe a little burnt and the maf was fine, I descreened it while I had it out.

not sure if you can see this but it's my last dyno that i had.

If you can't see it it says: Run conditions: 66.08 degrees, 28.85 in-Hg, STD: 1.03
Max power = 353.19 Max torque = 319.10
