i think its fine, it revs a little then starts moving, usually starts moving around 1500-1800 rpms, it'll run like that up until 4th gear where it locks up and i go back down to around 1100-1200 rpms. I thought it would be so much worse driving but it really takes away all dead spots. You just have to learn how to drive it because the gas needle tends to move a little faster, that smy only complaint, and the fact that i can spin mt et streets when stopping on it at a light

Thanks I think I know what my next stall is going to be. I have the TCI 3500 and only saw about .5 increase. Great times I must say now its time for you to get a nice head/cam package and break into the 11's

The normal gain is .4-.6 respectfully. The reason some people gain more is because they go from street tires to drag radials at the same time they added the stall. Or they simply didn't get the best time thier stock stalled cars had in them prior to a swap.
For example a car with standard boltons and street tires might run 13.4 @ 106 on a poorly prepped track with say a high 2.2 60'. Then they add drag radials and a 4000 stall and run a 12.4 @ 107 on a 1.6x 60'. The gain was 1.0 but not all of that was the stall.
Take that same car before the swap and just add the drag radials and you probably get a 13.0 @ 106 on a high 1.9 60'. The gain from the stall itself was actually .6 which is much more the norm.
As for driveability I have had a TCI 3500 and now a Circle-D 4400 stall. I found both to be perfectly streetable. In fact, I can't imagine ever driving a LS1 car again on the stock stall. It would just be too boring.

darrenls1, i think you are correct, although i ran drag radials before and after. My car was "stuck" at 13.3 and was very consistant, i kept cutting 2.1 60's because thats all my car was physically able to do, im sure if i couldve cut my 60' down i wouldve went 12.9 or 12.8 but for whatever reason i couldnt launch the car, the stock stall and 2.73s really didnt let me hit hard off the line, so i put the stall in and i was able to launch the car and ran 2 12.3s, so in a way yes i gained a full second because my car was maxed out on my old setup
