15x10 5.5" backspacing
Im in the market and am watching a set online and wanted to see if anyone is running a prostar 15x10 5.5" BS wheel with a 26" tire? Did some searching and found 7.5" seem like the right way to go.. a 6.5 will give you about 1/4" of tire sticking out the panel. But nothing really for a 15x10 5.5 BS combo... any suggestions? ( 9"inch, stock brakes)

9sec93 - that set up looks awesome BTW!
so im assuming with a 15x10 5.5BS, narrowing down the rears is req? I have a 9" on my car with 18x10.5 speedline z06 wheels and they sit flush right now.
I've also heard people shaving down the stock brakes on a stock rear and made them fit, or get some drag brakes and lose the ebrake. Getting mixed info so just trying to clear my head up a little.. thanks again! anyone else?

I am still debating this my self. My 9" is narrowed 3" Per side. I have the wolfe Mini tube kit but havent installed the yet. I am leaning toward 15x10's with a 5" BS. A 1/2 Spacer would stick the wheel in the stock location until I get the tubs in.

Yeah, i definitly would go this route in a heart beat since im getting my hands on a set. but too bad the rear is not narrowed down. I might put them up for sale/trade depending on what others say about this 5.5" fitment on a stock length rear and brakes.

a 10" rim with 5.5" backspace would look hideous on a stock length rear. they would stick out bad. you definitely would need a narrowed rear. there are a couple benefits to a narrowed rear though. it allows you to run a rim with more dish which looks awesome. you have more wheel choices and they are usually cheaper. you have the option to then tuck the tire further inside the wheel well. and the best benefit is you lose the rotating and unsprung weight.
and thanks guys, its a 295/65/15 MT drag radial.

After seeing that pic of 9sec's car... I'm thinking a 5.5 inch backspace wheel, but narrow the rear 3.25 to 3.5inches per side (which should pull them in 1/4 to 1/2 an inch more then what his car is)

thanks for the input everyone! yeah, i agree. 9sec set up is bad ***.. Since i wont be tubing my car anytime soon. From what ive read, 15x8 with a 5.5 BS should be more desired measurements on a stock with rear end, still some grinding to do but no lowrider stance as if you would with a 15x10 w/ a 5.5BS.

If you have stock length axles underneath your car, and want a 10" wheel in the rear, you need 7.5" backspacing. A 15x10" with 5.5" backspacing will look hideous on a stock length rear end. The grinding on your brakes is just to get the small diameter wheel to clear over the brake calipers. It doesnt really have anything to do with the backspacing or offset of the wheel, its the physical wheel diameter you are dealing with.

Yep! You can run either rim width, you just need to choose your backspacing accordingly. Like I said before, it doesnt matter which wheel size you pick, you'll be griding brake calipers regardless. Wider wheels may require some additonal attention in the fenderwells. Do a quick search, you'll find all the information you could ever need.

I'd get the minitubs in and go with a 15x10 with the 5.5 backspace. That gets ya an inch in the wheel well... where ya pretty much are going to want it anyway.

I have esssntially madman lca'a on my car (eastside built them years ago the same way madman does his)... I'm planning on making a new alum bushings, and putting the arm right up against the control mounts.
That will get me another 1/2 inch, so if I pull the tires in a 1/2 inch more then you did I "should" have the same space that you have.
I'm running a 28x10.5S tire right now, but may go to a 29.5x10.5S tire, if I can get the back low enough so it doesn't look screwy/hillbilly.
