TCI converters, posotive experiences?
TCI converters, posotive experiences? I'd like anyone with a TCI converter who has had a good experience with them post up. I'm thinking about going with a TCI ssf 3800 and a Torquer 2 cam from TSP. It seems I find a lot of negative posts about TCI. I find negative posts about Yank or Vig or fuddle too but not as many it seems. So anyone with a TCI let me know your experience, good or bad I suppose, even though I've read enough bad.

People will offer their own opinions and experiences all the time. You will get a raft of advice. Thing is, with negative posts about converter companies there is usually more than meets the eye - so take it all with a grain of salt.
My advice is to buy a converter that:
a. you can afford
b. has a decent warranty for when things go wrong, backed up by evidence from other peoples posts
c. has proven results at the track and on the street
Now that pretty much covers most of the main manufacturers here, namely:
TCI
Yank
Fuddle
PI
So, ultimately, you will have to go with what you best suits your budget and approval rating.
There are just too many threads here about pple. experiences with all these manufacturers so ther is no point in me adding to what has already been said.

Mine has been in about a year and I have not had any problems. Call Kevin @ TCI and after five minutes of talking converters with him you'll know that you are making a good choice. Good product, good price and great cutomer service.

Had my converter in for about 5-6 months now. It was the best thing I've ever done to the car. I have not had any experience with any other companies, but I can say I haven't had any problems or issues with this converter at all. I am extremely happy with my choice at this point in time. I might consider a bigger stall when my cam goes in...guess we'll have to see. Hope that helps.

1 of my friends has a 3500 TCI stall in his 01 SS that is stock with just mac headers and 3.73 12bolt and a predator programmer and is full weight and has run a best of 12.62 @108 with a 1.78 60ft with some 315 BFg DR
I have had mine (SSF 3500) in for just over year, about 15,000 miles and it is starting to develope lockup problems. Other than that it has been great.. BTW how do I get in touch with Kevin @ TCI?
about 10 months 12000 miles on my ssf 3000 and i have no complaints, just installed STS kit couple months ago runs a 7.66 at 93 mph in 1/8 on street tires. yes i said street tires not drag radials..
