Okay i have heard this discussed but never in depth. It started out by my E-BRAKE light staying on all the time then all of a sudden the ABS INOP light now continuously flashes. I brought it in to my buddies shop and he said that one or more of the sensors have malfunctioned and that it would be pretty pricy to replace them. My question is how would i go about removing the ABS module and what parts whould i need?

my abs is broken also, but i have no clue whats wrong with it.

or how to figure out whats wrong with it for that matter.

 

I got rid of it, ended up with this. I haven't had a chance to test it yet, the car is still apart. I am using a 1989-1992 Camaro Proportioning Valve. I had to re-flare all the lines except for one, and put in a larger line for the back. Everything is where it should be.

 

So all you do is just remove that whole module, plugs and all, tune it out, and then replace it with this valve?

 

and why did you ahve to put in a larger line for the rear?

 

That is what I did, haven't had a chance to test it out, so don't hold me to it..

I took it off to mess with that, I am putting it back in.

The merv go it right,because he install a proprtion valve.

You absolutely need this valve to be able to keep decent rear braking force.Without it,your front wheel will block during emergency braking but the rear wil just continue to roll or slide and this could cause an accident.

With a adjustable proportion valve like a wilwood(50$) you will be able to adjust the rear brake so they will lock at the same time has the front one.

This is a pictures of the sjm abs delete and line lock kit.Fairly easy to do/install and adjust.

That's what I was thinking..he wrote it a little confusing..

I used a Factory Valve that is setup for a car that is very similar, I think it will work, since I have upgraded Front & Rear Brakes compared to what that Proportioning Valve was originally part of.

 

I was just saying that you did it the good way.Some people cancel the abs module and then just put som"y" adapter without any valve.They all argue that there car are still braking perfectly but its not true...For saving 50$ or less they play with there own security
