So I have an LS engine with a G8 Magnuson SC and with a 200R4 tranny installation in a 55 BelAir. Because of the 200R4 tranny I will need kickdown cable but how can the Detent mount on a electronic TB or do I go with a Cable driven TB and tack weld the Detent?
Bare in mind that the G8 Maggy SC is setup to be installed in a 2006 or later GTO which has a wire TB.
Advantages of either the Wire or cable driven in this setup are ??????

I personally dont like the electronic t/b. The cable t/b has better throttle responce, and will only give problems if the cable brakes or gets carbon build-up, and is cheaper to fix if it messes up.

The advantages of the electronic TB are countless if you have the ability to calibrate the controller
The simplicity of the cable throttle is pretty much the only advantage
heres the analogy...

So 'splain me what advantage comes from having
the computer translate position into position?
All I can see is a way to interject traction control.
Which is near the top of the list for deletion, every
vehicle I touch.
But generally it seems like just another failure
mode waiting to happen.
G-series van donor is your friend if you want a
4L80E and cable throttle, straight up.
To the analogy, that rotary phone needs only
the existing land line. The Iphone needs a cell
phone tower and a whole shitload of other
hard & soft infrastructure you believe / hope
all works. And a bigger bill every month.
