Everything look good but the mains. Uless it's a iron block then it's fine. They are too loose for an aluminum block. He's gonna have bad oil pressure.

Loosen up the thrust some. Shoot for .006 to .008". Rods are a little loose also. You will have to be pumping a lot of oil to keep the pressure up.

try to get the mains and rods within .0020-.0025. you will have good oil pressure regardless of temperature. if your motor goes together like that your oil pressure will drop to 20psi after the motor heats up.

Looks really "loose" to me. I wouldn't want to see anything in the .003" range in a aluminum motor.

Ditto on the .0020" on the mains. That is what I shoot for when building SBC stuff, although I have only fully built 4 motors so you may want somebody with lot more experience.

Top ring gap is a little loose by my opinion but it should not hurt you.

Check piston pin to piston clearance. It should be around .001 so you don't grab the pin. When you use juice or a turbo the heat builds very fast in the top of the piston and you will see the pin scuff the upper part of the piston pin bore. Are you using a thermal barrier on the tops of the pistons?

They can be off the shelf. Thats no problem. I just like to hone the pin bore for a little extra clearance.
Did you coat the tops, bottoms, and the sides of the piston?
One step further, did you coat the crank and the rods with an oil shedding coating? Pretty cool stuff.

Correct, any good engine building always checks the pin bore and you will find alot of off the shelf stuff is not even close. I have seen it all the way as low as .0005. Too tight for my taste.

The mains are not bad from what he said, I would run them maybe .0005 tighter, but you can always put thick oil in the car as well. With a motor like this, I would be more worried about having enough room for that nitrous. I would go alittle over .03+ on the top ring for up to a 300 shoot. Thats alot.

You can alwyas shim the oil pump if you need another 10-20 psi in it. Helps too. Those rods are kinda big from what I use, but maybe only .0005 more. Make sure they are race bearings because they would be softer and can take the hit unlike a standard bearing.

For a 300 shot I like the top ring gap, I'd use a .032 on the 2nd and a .028 on the top. For a 150 - 200 I'd run .024 .028

I like to shoot higher sometimes only because if you do go higher, then you have room for it. Plus, nitrous is not as forgiving as boost.

For your pump, the porting wont do much, its the pressure spring in the pump that will give you the extra oil you need. Hope this helps.

Seems a little loose on the bearings to me too. Just measured mine up (assembling right now) and I was .002" all the way around. This was a 15K motor where I just replaced bearings and hand polished the journals on the crank. I will be adding a 200 shot in the future and I am running .028 top and .025 second ring gap (plasma molly on a forged piston) Top ring gap should be opposite the rotation of the motor and 2nd should be 180* off that.

For ring gap, I would go with the recommended gap and add .001 for a nitrous set-up.
