On the same dyno both times? If so, that's really impressive.

Yes, it was on the same dyno and that was the results with a home ported Fast 90 and a NW 90 TB vs. an LS6 with a stock ported TB.

There were also some corrections in the tune to get the A/F back in line after the swap. No other changes than that.

Oh, I thought we were discussing the difference between ported and unported FAST90 intakes. Had me really impressed with your porter.

Yeah, sorry about that. I know this was a stock Fast vs ported Fast thread. I think the porting is worth something. I mean a stock Fast usually picks up about 10-15 rwhp over an LS6 on average. I got about 8 rwhp more than that with my set-up and home port job.

It only took me about an hour or so to do with a dremel tool. I just ported the opening to get rid of that lip and then smoothed out the runners. It wasn't much different than what I've seen other shops do.

I see. Real quick, somebody clarify for me:
Are we talking about PORTING the intake? Or are we talking about PORT MATCHING?

If you read Tony's posts on page 5, I thought it was porting.

I thought so, but everyone keeps talking about port MATCHING for no reason.

The thread was started on the premise that many DIY people aren't sure what to do in terms of porting the intake beyond a simple port match. Most of the home port jobs are simply port matches and removing the ridge in the runner. I wanted to find more information regarding extensively porting the intake. Problem is those with the knowledge aren't giving it up because it's a money maker for them, and I don't blame them one bit. I wanted to get the DIY people together and see who's tried what and if there've been any positive results from a home "ported" FAST.
That's the reason everyone keeps talking about port "matching."

Yeah, I understand. That's what I'm saying:

This thread is about PORTING the intake. But people keep talking about doing their own, and they describe port matching instead of porting. So why do they keep doing that? I want to stick to the topic and read about PORTED intakes. Not PORT MATCHED intakes.

Very nice gains. I'm in the process of doing almost the exact same thing. No way to post before and after results though. I will try and post pics when I get done of the areas that I played with.

Time to tune I have this one And help another guy tune his car Maybe this week at performance dyno. I'm getting my idle to stabilize right now but I have no time. I have some ideas on some new maps for idle tuning. I just have to put in the computer time. Which I have no patients for right now.
