this **** has gotten out of hand.
i said the rings looked like **** because i did not want to go into detail & sound like you. i think the end gaps were around .050" and the moly coating was completely gone.
my block was finish honed with 400 grit stones, which leaves a shiny finish. the cylinder walls were still smooth with a shiny finish.
i don't know EVERYTHING about engines like you do. thats why i have a very good engine builder! but i'm sure you know way more about my motor then he does anyway.

If I were you I'd make damn sure you can't smell any raw fuel from the pipes. But it's probably too late now if you have that happening. From what I was told, you will gas wash it in the first day or two since rings really get seated (broken-in engine) in just a matter of miles. Supposedly my tune was "OK" too.
