think it has to do with atomization issues? becuase that just seems weird.

The EFI motor most likely adjusts to the atmosphere better than the carb motor. Might have better power under the curve to boot to account for the difference. Just some thoughts.

well, think about the fundamentals of each setup. carbs use a pressure differential to control fuel while an injector uses a small solenoid. it could be that in the midrange the injector has the better fuel control but cant provide the right amount of fuel like a carb up top. its just a theory so dont quote me on that.
