wasted spark ignition on ls series engine

I use between 5-10deg BTDC between 0-200rpm.
Once engine has started obviously it reverts to different values depending on conditions and idle control etc.

Waste Spark Coils/Waste Spark
Hi Matt, yes AGAIN GOOD Tech.
A Waste Spark engine "ONE coil (a +/- Spark Polarity) for Two cylinders" should have a Spark Instant After TDC at start-up.(cranking)
One great reason is that will lower the Backfire chance.
The same with bikes, most of which have Waste Spark ignition with the Advance Lever on the Handle Bar.
My first coil design was a "twin tower" for the Buick Celebrity/Grand National.
This Style of Waste Spark has a Spark Plug firing of a "+" on one plug AND the other complement of a "-" Polarity.
THUS a Small "fine wire" plug is NOT correct.
The other Waste Spark method is a SINGLE Coil for each Spark Plug firing EACH time the piston reaches near the top of the cylinder.
TWO "TTL" coils, one for each cylinder, is best for this style as the TTL signal is a Five Volt + drive. (Paired Coils)
I can only hope you find my information useful especially as I was the inventor (team member) in 1984.
