we take 5.3 blocks out to 3.910 without problems... (99.314mm) There is plenty of wall thickness.

Thanks,
Shane

To everyone talking about more or less efficient burns and whatnot...looking at the timing curves that the different engines run will give you some insight to that. Camshaft plays a large role in it as well, but it's a whole system, and everything influences it, including bore size.

Just my opinion.
Alot of people..myself included..are doing quite well with the easy achievable 4.000 x 4.000 402ci setup. It's probably the simplest to go with for anything over 400ci..

4.200 is pushing it for a Bore unless it's a LSX..the LS7 is 4.125 bore..and they are thin.

4.00 x 4.00 is easy. But go check my thread out in GenIV internal: 4.00 stroke / potential piston rock. I will say going fast right isn't easy.

I had my block sonic tested before AND after the machine shop bored the block over. My #2 and #6 cylinders are now at minimum wall thickness at just a 99mm bore. Careful with those 3.910" bores. Yikes.. .
