Default Seeing 1-1.75" vacuum at WOT. Do I have an intake restriction?

I just put my new cam and max ported FAST 90/90 on my car. It is using the same fuel at WOT which leads me to believe that I am not making any more power. I did notice however, that it is pulling from 1" to 1.75"s of vacuum at WOT. I am currently running OLSD, but I turn my MAF back on when I am done with the VE table. I also run CLSD some time. I am thinking that my MAF is a serious restriction now. The old cam and ported 90/90 were maxing out the MAF at 6,000rpm. I haven't changed my pids to check the MAF on the new combo. I was also previously seeing from 101-98 MAP Kpa. Now I am seeing 100-95 MAP Kpa. Am I making less power? Or am I just restricted now because of the new demand for air?

You are making more power. That's why you're seeing the vacuum at WOT. With more overlap, your exhaust is sucking more intake charge during the overlap cycle. This added airflow is showing a restriction in your intake. The added demand for air is causing the elevated vacuum reading at WOT. Ditch the MAF, run a straight tube. When you eliminate the upstream restriction, you will be able to add more fuel and make more power.

5kpa isn't a bad drop at all. Your going to have some drop. I've seen 7-10kpa mean 20-30 rwhp respectfully on the dyno. I had a 93 TA pick up 29rwhp by removing the stock aircleaner in favor of an open throttle body (speeddensity) when there was about a 10kpa drop at wide open.

Thanks guys. Pat I called you last night and left a message. I will try to get ahold of you today. But you have pretty much answered my question. As soon as I can scrape two pennies together I will pick up the IAT sensor and harness that I have set aside at the dealership. I went with the GTO IAT since it is said to have more resolution. PVC pipe can't be that expensive. I guess I am SD bound.

Does the car not using any more fuel necessarily mean that it isn't making any more power? I only had to change the VE a couple of % when I picked up 60rw with the new combo.

A better manifold, heads, cam all help the motor draw
down MAP against whatever front end restriction you've
got. There is always some. A relocated IAT and 4"
sewer pipe is all you want in front of the TB. Unless
you care about bugs, grit and small mammals down
the throat.

I got rid of the MAF and about an inch of vacuum so it must have been a restriction.

Cool. Any new ET or dyno sheets?
