Default Non DOD replacement lifters

Don't know for sure if this is posted in the right section?? I'm trying to replace the lifters in a 2008 Chevrolet 6.0. Anyway I'm wanting to take the DOD or AFM lifters out and replace them with conventional lifters. Can this be done? Will LS6 lifters and lifter trays work? I haven't tore into it yet but did know that the cylinders with the DOD lifters are keyed so you can't put a regular style lifter in that hole. I'm thinking the tray is the only thing keying that. Correct me if I'm wrong but any help is welcomed. I have the DOD tune out so it stays off but don't know for sure on the lifters.

12570471 LS2 Valley Cover

Those 8x O rings underneath block off the previous oil supply from the L76 Lifter Oil Manifold Assembly to the Collapsible DOD Lifters. Some engine builders additionally like to tap threads into these galleries and plug them with (Qty 8) 1/8"NPT allen plugs.

So I can use the LS1 style valley cover and those o rings and such come with that cover. I won't put the allen plugs in since the shavings will be in there and block won't be out of the truck so clean up will be hard.

Naah it's the LS2/LS7 style valley cover you need. It comes with the O rings as pictured above. The tube coming out the front is the PCV system....connect it straight to your intake manifold.
aaaar carp I'll PM you a link for the whole job.

What do you think, pull the motor or leave it in? I'm also replaced the the torque converter and if I need to pull the pan it probably will be easier just to yank it?? Do recommend going with a different oil pump or use the stock? I already have the cam gear and timing cover since I'm deleting the VVT. The sad thing is that the truck only has 3500 miles. My wife is sick
