Battery Relocation

Given my luck with battery leakage I would be looking for a
corrosion-proof setup with drain tube if I was going to put it
inside the one place there is appearance sheet metal (the
rear quarters). You might be able to simply add a "boat battery
box" to the mount kit BMR shows. But I wouldn't set it in the
spare tire well, just bare.
You want to think about whether relocation is a net win when
you add in 20+ feet of heavy copper cable (do not want to
even try to use chassis sheet metal as the ground current
return). I've thought about trying to use aluminum power
wire (with appropriate terminal blocks and anti-corrosion goo).
But haven't heard of anyone doing it, everyone uses welding
cable that I have seen.

If you are worried about battery leakage just buy an optima battery, because they are dry cells and you will probably need a battery box anyhow because in most states a battery in the passenger compartment has to be in sealed container to pass D.o.t laws
