Soldier in Iraq needs help Hey I am currently deployed to Iraq and I am looking at an 01' camaro from a user on here his name is zmonsterjb and the installed a built lq9 shortblock with what seems to be an ls6 top end,
I am a blackhawk machanic so I dont know to much about cars that why I am posting this thread after doing a lot of research i was very interested in the car but as of late I seen something that bothers me on the valve cover he has wrapped the breather with a red shop towel he said it was to stop the mist from the crank case pressure? Well im just not sure if this is normal i am looking for a daily driver type of car like a toy and I am just not sure how reliable the car whould be?
Can anyone out there help me out and give a little input on what i can do thanks a lot

If he has swapped Throttle bodies and doesn't have a pcv port, then he is probably using a valve cover breather to releave the preasure from the crank. If he doesn't have a filter on there just an open cap, then it will probably be misting a bit!....
If you dont like that, you can always switch to ls6 pcv by swapping the valley cover, it pulls vacumm through the valley cover to the intake, and just take the breather off. The car looks pretty good, this wont make the car more or less reliable though

Thanks for the input every one I guess the main thing I am looking for is that if the car the way he built it would be a reliable toy/daily driver because I live in Germany and it's not like they have autozones around the corner or anything thanks again for the help

The rag is wrapped around the "smiple oil cap filter" to prevent mist from hitting the engine bay
There is nothing "Hack" about this car!
I would be more than happy for anyone to come look at this car, who ever see s it in person and goes for a ride will want to buy it.
