Default Gauges for Dual pillar pod?

I ordered a dual pillar pod for my 98 Z28 and was hoping a few
of you out there would have some ideas on what gauges to put in.
I have the white face gauges in the main console, and would like
white faces on the pillar pod. I considering the air/fuel mixture
and trans temp. Any other ideas.. And where can you find gauges
at resonable prices?

You should get one for water temp first, it's nice to have some real readings. A/F ratio gauge is trash, its completely useless except for a light show. I only got one to fill in the hole until I put a boost gauge in there.

Autometer Ultra-Lite gauges are probably your best choice. If you have more money you can go with the Phantom or Lunar series, all are white face. Look at Summit, Jegs, and E-Gauges for them and the adapters to make them work. I'd say get water temp and trans temp. Trans temp on an M6 is pretty useless as well. The needle on the gauge won't even pass 100* until you have driven 10-20 miles. If you have an A4 though, it's a good investment! Do you have any plans for N2O or a blower in the future? Then you could get a boost or nitrous pressure gauge instead

Ooops... I just read you have a 98, no need for the water temp gauge then... Oil temp maybe? As long as you don't get a A/F gauge

How hard is it to run all the wires needed for the piller gauges?

There is no need for fuel pressure unless you are running F/I. It stays pretty low anyways. And the A/F gauge is useless, unless you have an accurate DIGITAL one.

The wiring is very easy, there are five wires per gauge; sender, power, ground, light power, light ground. The light ground can just tap into the gauge ground, the the gauges can tap into eachother, I didn't to any tapping just to prevent overheating of wires, but I'm sure it's okay to tap into other gauges for power. The wiring is pretty fun, I had fun with it at least. Took me around two days to do the install, with a lot of breaks and mishap in-between. I could probably do it in four-six hours now.

Very true, I have one and a light show is all that it is good for...

So the Trans Temp is (NO) good for the M6, and the A/R is useless. I don't have the money for NOS or a SC, so Boost and Nitros gauges is out, and the Main console has Volt,Temp,Oil, and Gas. So what should I get, For the most part im going for the look.

Thanks for the Help

good stuff.

If it were me, I'd do Autometer phantom or ultra-lite. Maybe oil temp, and brake pressure (didn't know they had these )

I never said trans temp is a no go, it's just not at important when you are running an M6. My tranny has gotten up to 180* according to the gauge, so it will definitly give you a reading. Of all the gauges that they make, I'd say tranny temp and oil temp would be the most practical for you to get. Oh, by the way, is the pillar for 2-1/6" or 2-5/8" gauges? Different sized have different options.

Good point, I still have my stock black face gauges so I decided to get some black ones for my gauge pillar.
