scratches everywhere!
i dont know what to do anymore. i have about 5-6 coats of Z5 on the damn car and i can still see some slight scratches on the car. Im waxing/polishing in the garage where i have a bunch of flourescents about 8 feet above my car. think that would have a real large impact on how much you can see? Im taking my car to a show (indoor) and the ceilings prolly lke 50' or so. same place the chicago auto show is so you can imagine its not a small place.
ive tried using some 3m stuff- that usually works. I have some fine cut which scuffs the paint up, and some wax cleaner which usually takes the scuff out...well, i can still see a bunch of scratches. they arent real deep, but they are still there. any other suggestions?

Re: scratches everywhere!
If you can slide your fingernail over the scratch and you can feel it, then no matter what you use, you won't get it out because it is embedded in the clear coat.
If you can't feel the scratch by sliding your fingernail lightly over it, then go to a detail shop and have them buff the crap out of it and it will come right out.
I had a tree scratch the side of my old corvette. The scratch wasn't deep and just was on the surface of the clear coat. I had a body shop compound and buff it right out. Good as new.
Also, if you pay them some money, a body shop can polish your clear coat to a factory shine. My car was done when I went in to get some repainting done on my fender. They polished the whole car with a polishing wheel and it looked amazing.

Re: scratches everywhere!
I once had a scratch on my 99 SS that was pretty much through the clear. I kept adding Z-5 to the scratch every day and eventually you couldn't tell where it was any more. Never could see it again the entire remainder of the time I owned it.

Re: scratches everywhere!
Thats exactly what I'm gonna do, but I am waiting until the summer to go and get them buffed, no reason to do it now...

not true, get a container of turtle wax polishing compound. One time when I was being a dumbass, i scraped the side of my car against the house. I left a nice gash in the body side molding. Some polishing compound, a damp rag, and 3 hours of labor later the car looked like showroom condition once again. <img src="gr_grin.gif" border="0">
