I like the 2nd one. Just try it and see if you like it. I don't think it would be much more than cosmetic though.

if made right, it could be very functional. it would make the best type of ram air intake i could think of.

Here is a chop I did up real fast. I used an lt1 with a Sunoco because of how similar and how much closer it looks to the c6 then the ls1 style cars.

Anyhow, I kinda like it! I left the glare around the scoop and extended it up a bit around the Sunoco cowl. I only changed the size of the image, so you can see just how close it really is!

i think we(ls1tech) should contact VFN fiberglass with this idea

what do you guys think?

the scoop should be "deeper/larger" than the C6 Z06 scoop because of the increased size of the sunoco cowl(compared to the stock C6 hood cowl)

"IF made right" There is so much obstruction right where you are placing it. It is not like the vette that the hood opens forward so there is no latch mech sitting right in the way. You have supports and latch assembly right there.
and then the core support. I would think it would be like a FTRA kit that went down then forward instead of straight down. Either way, I like the looks of it.

ive been messing around with a few ideas and the only problem i see with this being functional is the hood latch. so i guess a pin on hood would be the way to go

I really like it so long as you keep it to a low profile a la C6 Z06. It'd look really bad if it were as deep as it looks in the last pic.

if you have the money you could get a replacement c6 z06 bumper off ebay
----

or

----
you could contact a company that makes reproduction c6 z06 front bumpers and have them use the molds to get you just the scoop

then hire a good body work guy to glass it all together

i know both ideas are very impratical, but they would get the job done.

I thinks it would be mostly just for looks cause if the scoop was too close the the hood it might cause the hood to "lift" due to the fact of the increased air flow under the hood if not used to a RAM AIR effect.

i think it would be fine if it was a sealed system.
