Default Ground effect idea

For people who are running a front splitter i was thinking of how about adding a piece kinda like a splitter but for the side ground effects so its a smooth transition from the splitter down to the side of the car. Its a big picture but like what GM put on the ZR1. Figure it serves a purpose since GM put it on the corvette that maybe it will work for our cars as well. Opinions on this?

the only purpose i can think of for those is to help keep the tires from throwing **** all over the car, plus they wont look that good on our cars

I actually think that would look especially well on camaros without ground effects.

Been working on it for awhile for another member. It is VERY easy to get made, not so easy to mount.

All I had to do was the cardboard trick again to get the design, then have it cut from the same ABS, no biggie.

My obstacle so far is mounting. The splitter mounts using 8 FACTORY holes (so you can unbolt 8 10mm bolts, replace them with mine and you are good) and only 3 holes you have to drill that are easily accessed (to attach with a nut).

The problem with the side diffusers is finding a way to mount them. Even if you just drill 5-7 holes to mount them you still have to find a way to access the other side of the sheet metal to affix it with the washer and nut.

I have the ability to make the skirts no problem, just don't know how to successfully mount them...

Well you could probably mount them to the same points of the bolt on SFC's... They use 3 or 4 i believe.. I have them but cant remember how many bolts it took..

When I put my side skirts on (converted to T/A body panels) I just used self tapping screws and washers to attach it to the underside. Holds it up with no problem at all, and is very secure. Anyone that has a drill could easily do it their self. Just a suggestion.

And a VERY GOOD suggestion at that... Sometimes the simplest ideas (self-tapping screws) don't find room in my mind

I'll take another look at the frame tonight and see how much damage that would do...

As long as I can mount it to the non-painted surface with them I think we're good to go

I'm just throwing something out there....if they are fairly light, could you mount them with 3M tape? I know its not the most secure thing, but it could be an alternative to drilling holes. The self-tapping screws seems like the #1 choice though.
