Default Which First?

Ok, this winter I'm saving all my funds to do some bigger mods in early spring. Longtubes and an ORY are first...after that, SFCs, and then I am not sure. I'm looking at doing either a WS6 hood or Black ZR1's with 17x11s out back.. I'm not sure if I should do the hood or the wheels first. I can't do both because after either one of those cosmetic mods, I am gonna focus on more go fast parts. Which would you choose and why?

tough choice... i have both of those mods on my car..i did the wheels first because i needed tires after a blowout (back in 05) mine are 17x9.5 all the way around

do you have stock rims or some other form of 17s? i changed my rims because i wanted to upgrade from the stock 16s. my hood was cheap and not planned (well i had thought about it and wanted it for a long time but it popped up on ebay and i snagged it for $300 and only had to drive a couple hrs to pick it up)

Wheels first, I have Black zr1's with a polished lip (and 01-02 stock ws6 wheels) . I would say ditch the WS6 hood idea and go with something a little less seen. Good luck

Got any other hood suggestions? I was looking at the Mecham hood...$769 is some serious coin plus shipping

The Mecham looks cool with the heat extractors, and I have only seen one in my area. (he has the matching wing but its way too much, I dont like it anyway) and I like the superhawk like in the thread below.

Hmmm, I dunno. It's a tough decision. On any car, wheels can really transform the look of your car, while a WS6 hood is mandatory on a base model Trans Am. I would probably do wheels first because with the WS6 hood, the car can only look so good with 16's.

Hood. The last thing this world needs is yet another 4th gen rolling around on vette wheels.

WHEELS! If you plan on doing some real engine mods, wouldn't it be better to have 315s out back to hold whatever you throw at it

Get your hood later, and keep looking into the Mecham or Firehawk

Just to steer you in the right direction here....i just bought said mecham hood myself, and after taking it to the body shop, a reputable one that does only custom stuff, he told me the body work to make it look right would be DOUBLE that of a decent quality fiberglass hood....

He took one look at it and showed me the horrible fiberglass work, and how he would have to prime it atleast TWICE before paint, and with the metallic nature of my paint, the shoddy fiberglass hood would dull, making it never look quite right....

In addition, i have since stumbled upon a OEM ws6 hood, and my last choice as EVERYONE has one, it still beats the stocker, and is of decent quality....

If you really want a mecham, i got one i will sell CHEAP, the body shop wouldnt even touch it .....its too bad too, because i love their hoods design...but the craftmanship was just not there...

Do the hood first, your car looks sinister with the all black wheels it has now. Buying another set of black rims that don't stand out much wouldn't justify, imo of course.

i know what ur saying...i drive this car in the winter, thats why i wanted to get another set of black wheels, keep this for the winter and then have the wide meats for the summer, this way my car still looks good in the snow .

I want the hood, but 245s just look like crap. Thats my debate in my head right now.

Also, where can I get that superhawk hood? I've been surfing the net without much luck
