Default grill ideas

I have an extra stock grill laying around, so I figure I can play around with it and see if I can improve the look of it.

Here is my first idea

and here is my second

my photoshoping skills don't show it, but I plan to sand down the bumper smooth and paint it a high gloss black.

anyone have ideas?

I like the first one, I would like to try that with on of the stock grills I have here. I dunno how you would go about smoothing out the 2 openings maybe you have some better ideas.

i was planning on cutting the fins out, and then taking a dremel or something and grinding them down from there. then i think once the texture is removed from the whole grill and it's painted, it should blend pretty well.

I like the smoothing idea and then you can do what I did, which I stole from someone else, and put the ricer grille in behind the holes to cover up the styrofoam crash barrier. You can do a little bit of moving forward of the screen and press nails in sideways thru the styrofoam to hold the screen closer to the front of the holes.

Sorry bout the hijack...

those grills look great...i always thought that a chrome billet grill with the SS emblem on it looked awsome and really clean...but since the thread was all about changing up the grill you own already i say go with the second one with the ss emblem...good luck either way

I assume when you say stock grill you don't mean an SLP grill. If it's regular stock go full body color and put a black SS badge or black bowtie in the center. Otherwise I'd go the same as Brian2006's color matching. That thing looks sick!

Yes a red vert z28 did it. Looked out of place IMO. I believe he was planning on reversing it to the way I did it.
