I don't have the pages for the write up of those two, but if you search you should definitely find them. I just wanted to tell you if you post the "Engine Bay" question in Paint and Body work section, i'm sure you'll get a crapload of responses. Those guys know what their doing in there

its kinda unclear what ya wanna do. rattle can or gun? single stage or base/clear? i will tell you that the hardest and most time consuming part wil be taping everything up, and tape EVERYTHING on the car, overspray WILL find its way to the car if it can, esp when using a gun.

if you arent doing a color change, then it will be cake, as the spots you DO miss wont really be noticable. you can do it with the motor in the car obviously. through a sheet over the motor and then pull back/tape all the wiring.

i did mine in single stage bc the paint is cheaper, touchups are easy, and its just faster to spray bc you dont hafta clean the gun for the clear.

it will also look 10x better if you take the time to hide all the wires and everything else. less is more. also, painting the fenders and leaving everything else alone may look bad, tackle the valve covers, STB, brackets, supports, whatever else you wanna paint to make it alll look nice. this was all done in my driveway btw, and im by no means an experienced painter!

most mods for cleaning the engine bay are in the appearance hall of fame sticky. ^ The hood latch mod is just like the wire mod just on the other side.

wow dude, do that **** on your own. paint and material will cost ya around $75 for decent stuff, and you can buy a gun for $25. 3-4 hour project. and the only prep you need to really do to the surface is scuff it up with a scotch brite pad (grey). scuff it up, tape everything up to avoid oversrpay, run a tack-rag over the areas your gonna paint, and go to town.

nothing is more rewarding than to have someone ask you "Who painted that?" and you reply "I DID!"

theres hardly no prep even required. scuff with grey scotch brite and youre ready to spray after you tackeverything. the only reason i even primed was bc i had bondo and bare metal on the surface.
