sorry to bring this back up, but how do you, get the dash piece off, that surrounds the gauge cluster? I've got all the bolts out, and it seems to be stuck on the dash(or bolted), on the front side towards the window. Do you just pull it? Or take something else off, to un bolt it?

How well do the WLED-x-x work? The 120 degree angle ones? The WLED-x5 is just so much more expensive.

I just installed my 6LE gauges and 360 degree WLEDs. i got cool white but my needles don't light up all the way and all my dummy lights are very dim. All lights are working. What should I do to make this better? I hear you can relace the dummy lights with LEDs. Has anyone tried this? Does anyone know what LEDs they would be? I also put a nanowedge behind the headlight switch and that is dimmer than factory with the 6LE overlay. should I try the high power one? Will that fit?
FlynZ- just pull that bad boy. it has two clips on the bottom corners that pop out.

Should be 5 for the gauges, 1 for each turn signal arrow, and 1 for high beam indicator.

It sounds like you and I have the exact same bulbs and issues. The McNord gauges really dont let the dummy lights light up too well, but I was with him this past week at SEMA and we're working on a solution for the matter. The only other solution at the moment is to solder in LED;s....and that wasn't an option i want to try.

Also, my testing is just about done on the new needles I make to replace the stockers used on 6LE overlays. Here's my sneak preview....theres more over on 6litereaterdesigns....he's going to start carrying them as well.

Yeah i saw those over on his forums. good move. i don't want to solder in a bunch of LEDs on the dummy lights either.
For the overlays, i tried cutting out the tape behind the headlight switch symbols and that helped it out a bunch. the light doesn't diffuse great, but its better. Thats why i was wondering about the high power LED.
I thought about getting some clear double sided tape and replacing all of his tape with that. Should help with the needles too. I was talking to mark and he said they used to use the clear tape but don't anymore. I think i'm gonna try it. Mine are all black so i don't think it will matter, no?

Are the needles the same weight as the stockers so you dont have to re-calibrate the air cores ?

They are just about the same weight, but are a slightly different style (my own). And, your cluster will not require calibration.

Unfortunetly the LT1 style needle still escapes me. They're a different kind of monster altogether, lol.

If you'd like, go to the interior appearance section on the 6litereaterdesigns forum to see more of them and some of the colors available. I just did a new yellow/Gold, an off white and silver (that looks AMAZING on a stock cluster)

I just bought my leds for my guage cluster.I want my guages to be true red.Not orangish red that comes in the firebirds from the factory.I am on my second set of leds. This st was bought from superbrightleds. Each set comes out orangish red.I already have white face overlays on it.It must be the oem guage faces that are making them orangish red.Can the oem faces be replaced. If so who makes them.6LE?

Yes, the factory T/A overlays come with a orangeish/redish backing. It's almost a tinted "gel" (like used in the film industry to change light shades). The Camaro's come with a blueish/aquaish/ greenish tint to them. To have a clear overlay you'd need to just get new overlays and then change the bulbs to make them the color you want.

It sucks that you had to buy 2 sets of bulbs. Also, the ones that seem to work the best are the 6 led, 360 degree one's from s****b*****leds.com.

Any finally, yes the OEM gauge faces (overlays) can be replaced, and yes, 6litereaterdesigns sells them.

This is the only thing I wish I could change about my overlays...I'll be watching to see if this gets fixed. I love how they look in the daylight, but the dummy lights and the headlight switch overlays in particular flat out need to let more light through.

You can sand the color coat off . ITs just a transparent paint , toped with a translucent white coat . The numerals and icons and black background are applied from the front of the face . ***This does not apply to the hvac and headlight overlays , all color is applied the back ***

Heres and example of what Im talking about . This is on my Cobalt SS , same concept applies to the f-car gauges .

Same concept applies to the F-cars . I did a Camaro cluster too , but cant find its pics .
