it's gettin' close!
Spark is good...pump wiring is good...cooling system works...gauges work....I'm giving up for the night since its 2am...gonna drop the tank in the morning and check the pump and the hose in the tank....I'll keep you all posted.
good thing is you've got everything else working fine. can't wait to see a vid of it running!!!!
I cant wait till my baby is done!!!! Got to order the last part for my direct port which is the dedicated fuel cell.... Can I ask how come you didn't go LS7 top end??? Fuel pressure was the issue saturday night, only had 20psi at key on the first time i tried to start it. Each time the pump cycled it got lower and lower and finally wouldn't go above 9psi. This was where i gave up at 2:30am. Yesterday morning i went out and bit the bullet...instead of dropping the tank i did the trap door mod, of course it's very clean and i'll post pics, but i hated to do it. Dropping the tank was just too big of a hassle for as often as it was being done. It took me less time to peel back the carpet, cut the hole, clean it up, and remove the pump than it did for my buddy to drop his tank out of his car with me helping (we were doing it at the same time, side by side, me going back and forth). ANYWAY...pump assy came right out and my suspicions were confirmed. The rubber hose from the pump to the barb fitting on the bucket assy must have had a crack or something because it blew apart on the barb fitting, just above the clamp, leaking fuel back into the tank. i chopped off the hose end and reattached it.
This produced new trouble...100psi of fuel pressure at key on...the regulator had jammed up, so i had to disassemble it and use quite some force to knock the plunger out of the return hole. once that was all lined out...62psi and it maintained
car started, with some trouble but it started. you can tell the computer is trying figure out what's going on. Like i said, i need my IAC's to come down and for some reason my tach isn't working, but all the other gauges are. i'm gonna check my cam sensor extension wiring and see if something got mixed up...other than that all is well. 70psi oil pressure cranking, about 60psi warmed up running. hard to say since it won't idle yet.....and it sounds like a 600+" big block

it was almost a toss-up. i decided i didn't want to be limited to a factory intake (at the time) and the TFS heads had a better flowing exhaust port and comparable intake flow to most LS7 heads on the market at the time, at least in the price range i was looking at. i also didn't really want to use a ported stock casting. The aftermarket heads have a little more to offer here and there, so i went with the TFS 245, which had already been a proven power maker on several engines.
You have a few kinks to work out, but I can't imagine it taking too much longer.

Yeah that is true... I decided to go with some WCCH because I have seen some crazy numbers from his work... Also they would go great with the bad boy I just got back

I've got a few leads on how to get my **** running better now. Apparently i need a throttle body BIGGER than 92mm, and maybe still have to drill a hole in it. My IAC counts at idle (idle = me giving it 5%+ throttle to keep it running) are around 190-200. They need to be around 50-60 or so. Also, my tach doesn't work and it takes the motor a while to start...apparently Casper's GenIII to GenIV swap harness is wired backwards on some setups, apparently mine is one of those setups, so i've got to swap a couple wires around so my ECM gets the proper cam sensor signal.
Fuel pressure issues are resolved. i found an oil leak on the back of the motor though...could be rear main seal, could be oil pan...hard to say at this point. oil pan is no big deal, rear main seal will **** me off.
Other than the little issues, the motor is a beast. It revs SO FAST and is so responsive it's not even funny.
I haven't forgotten pics or videos, i'm just waiting for the right time

Love the car man...
Going back out to work on it now, gotta swap cam sensor wires and finalize wiring on my wideband gauge....i'm looking for a 96mm TB. if anyone knows of one, hit me up
