Another thing that i wanted to mention. If anyone is curious the bulbs are just regular H4 bulbs. Nothing special, no zenon, no higher wattage. These are 55/60 watt bulbs that came with these Bosch housings when they were made and sent overseas. So the even better part is that i can get some Hella bulbs with wattages up to 130/90, and then the bright lights get WAY brighter.......YAY

Did you replace all 4 with the new housings?

How does the low/high beam function work now? Did you wire up the low-beam/high-beam to work on all 4 housings? Or did you wire up the low beam filament on the low beam housing and the high beam filament on the high beam housing?

Do you have any wall shots so we can see the beam pattern?

Yes i did replace all 4 housings. There are more pics to come, i still have to aim the headlights so that is when i will get wall pics.

As far as the wiring goes. Since the H4 bulbs are dual filament. I have it set up exactly like stock. The low/high beam is on and the high beam only is off for low beam. The low/high beam is on and the high beam is on for high beam. The wiring harness uses 3 hella relays to allow for this.

Now i might in the future change the wiring a little. I might set it up where all 4 lights are on for low beam and high beam....Susquehana said that they wouldnt recommend it because it will most likely be illegal and extreamly bright on low beam. Which also would be dangerous for other drivers in traffic.

Like i said more pics to come. They will have the beam pattern, and more mounting pics of the relay setup.

So its wired to operate exactly as stock?

Low Beam:
* The two outer housings only light the low beam filament

High Beam:
* The two outer housings only light the low beam filament
* The two inner housings only light the high beam filament

Is that right?

You mean:
Low Beam:
* All four housings have the low beam filament lit only

High Beam:
* All four housings have the high beam filament lit only

It might be illegal, and people might think you have your high beams on when just the low beams are on because they see all four housings lit. It certainly would be a lot more light output.

VIP you are correct on the above except on High beam the outers light the high beam and the inners light the high beam. I know on the factory lights it is a single filament bulb so that is not possible.... So basically all 4 light up on the high beam filament on high, only the outers light up the low beam filament on low beam...LOL

I like this kit and the results. So, if I bought kit # HL21004, it will be what you have and comes with the harness for full plug and play and allows the low beam and high beams to operate in stock fashion? Just have to find a place to mount the relays basically?

They arent out of stock...Just call and talk to Will or Dave.... Unless they sold like 100 of these in a few days. Their website is not up to snuff right now. Their server recently crapped it and they had to change their URL and...blah blah...just call and speak to them. They will get you set.

Tampa...as far as relay mounting...i have pics of that comming soon...If anyone needs anything regarding this feel free to PM me. I am also willing to call and give any kind of support or answer questions.

Thanks

Here are 2 pics of the beam pattern. Sorry still havent had a chance to aim the headlights. In the following shots the car is exactly 25 feet from the garage door. In the low beam shot the fog lights are off. As you can see the light output is MUCH better than stock. I cant even imagine what it will be like whenever i decide to upgrade to some Hella bulbs. Input please Gents..

Looks pretty good. You are right about the aim (needs adjustment). That high beam is freakin bright and big.

I'm a bit surpirsed that the wiring harness has the high beam filament on all four light up.

VIP....just to let you know. On the harness...on a H4 bulb one side is ground, one side is high beam and the top is low beam. For our high beam there is only a wire going to high and ground. For low beam all 3 wires of course are hooked up. In order to get the lights to work in this manner....3 relays are required. None of those 3 have anything to do with the fogs at this time....Once i upgrade those....that wiring will get an upgrade as well

Just an update to everyone. There are enought 4 housing setups for 25 cars. They have exactly 100 of the housings left. So if some people only get low beam then of course there would be more to go around. Just let me know if there are any questions.

Based on this it would seem that the high beams have the biggest amount of light increase over stock because you have 4 hi beams. The low beams are still just 2 low beams.
