93-97 Camaro headlight conversion Well, last week, I converted my sealed beams so that I could use some better bulbs, that would give off a blue color. The swap went well, but I wasn't satisfied with the bulb temp, because it wasn't giving enough of the blue color for me, since they were only 5500k or 6000k. So, I got some 10000k bulbs off eBay the other night. And I decided that I'd post some pics of the process this time.
H4351 housings with bulbs removed:
Bulbs of choice (Platin 100w 10000k 9006 bulbs):
Bulbs fit perfectly in the housing, but I used some sealant to make sure no moisture would get in:
I'm waiting for the sealant to dry right now. But, later, I'll put them in and post some pics of what they look like after dark. It was relatively cheap to do. I had the spare housings laying around from burnt out headlights. So, I got the bulbs for $12 shipped to my door, and the sealant was only a couple dollars. And with the 9006 bulbs, it's completely plug and play. A lot better than paying around $90 for the Eurolamps conversion.

when you get hid's don't get 10,000Kelvin
you get the ricer blue color, but the light is absorbed by the pavement, so you're really not doing yourself any good.

Yeah. I'll probably end up going with 8000k on HID's. I put the new headlights in about 2 hours ago and tested them out in the shop, with one of these new ones, and one of the ones I did last week. I liked the one that I did last week better. I thought it appeared a little more blue than these. So, I just decided to stick with them. So, if anyone wants to buy the ones I have pictured above, let me know. I'd let them go for $50 shipped. That's what the housings alone would cost, if you went to a parts store to buy them.

I'll try and get some pics up later this week. The car's in storage in my grandparents' garage again, since it snowed Saturday night, and it's supposed to snow again tonight and tomorrow. But, I'll try and make it in there soon, and swap the headlights again, to take some pics.
