Default heat shrink hose clamps

This is for all you F-body guys that really concentrate on your underhood appearance. We use these at work and they really help clean up your engine bay. They are really easy to install, and actually seal better than a worm drive clamp. All you need is a heat gun.

Ill try to get some pics of some motors we have put together with them insalled.

Yeah, they're made by Gates. I had them on my Syclone...they make for a very clean install. Yes, they can be used for radiator hoses. Gates also sells a special cutter that will slice through the clamp without scoring the hose...you can do it by hand, just be careful.

They arn't really cheap, i forget how much we get them for at work. They are made for radiator hoses, so yes they will seal against pressure. A soldering iron works really well to cut them off if need be. I work at Prorides . I dont know how many of you have heard of us. The green 61 Ford Starliner that was in Summit racing a few years back was built at our shop.

Interesting find as I was looking for something along these lines. I just didn't know if they existed.

Only downside I could see is they are one use only. Which, granted isn't usually a big deal, unless you have to replace them more than twice doing a cam swap etc.

Post an engine bay pic when you get a chance.

Well I tried taking a picture with my camera phone but I cant get the lighting right. Here it is anyways. Those clamps are the only ones used on this and pretty much any other engine that leaves our shop. We also use a lot of tubing in our radiator hoses, so we have 4 clamps per hose. If you install them right, then the end of the clamp will roll over the end of the hose and just barely touch the waterneck or whatever the hose is one. If the car is going to be raced, then we might use a worm drive clamp on one connection for each hose.

Well, it looks good. I'll add this to my 'to do' list for the winter.

should look good with the coil covers you are working on. I have read your other thread, but havn't had anything to add. I like how you are grinding the name off. I think they will look really good installed.

I should have some more time to work on them this weekend. Hopefully I'll have at least the driver's side installed.
