Post 97 to Pre 97 Tail Light Conversion - Camaro alright, wondering if someone can shed some light on this.
I picked up a set of "LT1" tails from a friend. After going to just swap it out with my old tails i realized the sockets dont fit into the holes. I then realized he gave me a harness. I plugged the harness in, verified the running lights work, turn signals work but when i step on the brake they dont get brighter.
Ive talked to a bunch of people, some say oh your harness will just plug in (which it doesnt)
can anyone who has done this help me out?
my goal is to do a sequential turn signal mod but i really would just like to get em on my car and working properly right now (IE. all the lights work the exact way they do on the early 4th gens)

no u can still u the old harness and it should still look like lt1 lights when they light up as running lights. it did on my friends car i dont see why it shouldnt for yours if u need help let me know
you mean have them light up like this? where the whole tail light comes on at night? I did what Camaro RS350 said, i had to use a small knife to make the socket opening a little bigger for my LS1 tail light socket to go in. Oh and sorry for the crappy cellphone pic, they look super bright here but its actually not like that and its evenly lit up

so im hoping that the mod actually forces the 3 to light in sequence as a blinker and that the LT1s when you used the blinker didnt have all 3 pulse together

Verdad Gallardo when i use my turn signal only one bulb blinks brighter as i didn't tap the other 2 bulbs to it...as for the sequential i believe you need some sort of like regulator or something. I'm sure someone who knows will chime in or just do a search...good luck

For the LT1 tails going to LS1 I am not positive but I think you will have to cut one of the wires on your set that powers the amber section all the time. I would get a mulitmeter and see which pin has power all the time and see which pin gets power when they are blinking. If they are two seperate pins the just cut cap and stow the wire that has power all the time.
