Talk with Angie on how much Vic would charge to weld in the cage. I would have no clue.
So, you are thinking of a cage too? It is just too nice racing at NPR. Make sure you get the removeable door bars. Well worth the money!!

There are plenty of shops around. Sonny at pro-fab, the guys at NPR, and even Jason's shop on Airline (who installed Allan's cage). I suggest you go talk to these people in order to save some dough!

If you pull the interior I wouldn't think it would be that much. We did mine and it wasn't too bad. Dad replaced his old machine though and I ended up paying for it so it probably cost me a lot more than what Vic would charge you. He did a great job on my headers so talk to him like Jason said.

Justin im not too sure what the prices around there would be but around here people usually run about 30 bucks an hour whiich is HIGHWAY ROBBERY!!!!! If I could weld good enough I would do it for about the cost of a case of beer or so! When project VEGA gets underway I will have to learn how to weld.... gunna be funny to mess up a tube chassis and have to buy everything new again!

When I had my 8pt done it cost me $900.00 -> I took out the interior myself so the 900 was just for the welds and bends....Michael

Re: Cost to weld in a roll cage?
You guys have to be talking about complete cages for those prices
For the main hoop and the door bars you use 2 3"x6" plates for each weld point. Use 6"x6" plates for the rear bars. Basically we weld 1 3"x6" plate to the floor and then 1 up the side rocker butting in up against the
one you welded to the floor. Once you have the plates welded to the floorpan you just weld the 6 pts of the cage to the plates.
These are included in the price of the Wolfe Cage. It should cost over 300 max to do it. If you can't find anybody really cheap I'll let you look at mine and if you think we did a good enough job I gurantee my dad will do it a hell of a lot cheaper than that.

Derek, I've got the car ready for the cage, but I need to fix my tranny first. I might have to take you up on that offer. Where is your dads shop located?

Re: Cost to weld in a roll cage?
Justin,
If my dad agrees to do it he has a welding shop at home. He does mostly automotive repair work at his shop but the shop at our house he builds trailors and does welding and etc. Thats where my car is now. I keep it in there while its all to pieces. Its really not that big of a deal to weld in a cage. I'd assume Vic could do it pretty cheap. If you need him to do it we are located on the Texas border about 2.5 hours from here.
