Check out this page in the link below. They have several pics of two different types of stripe kits for the SS and Z28. One is the 35th style and the ohter is just a regular racing style. The also offer it going all the way down the front or where it cuts off by the headlights. Link is below.

I got my car totally custom painted with berger style stripes and it looks great!! If you go with those stickers on that web page, the only one I would recommend it the 35th anniversay one cause the other I have seen personally and it comes way to far down the nose. Believe me it is ugly! I had my car sitting right next to one with the stickers and it was night and day. Of course it took some time and effort on painting the stripes but well worth it! Also on the rear deck SS spoiler I just simply put a little stripe, continuing from the front, in between the spoiler and rear glass and then on to the spoiler and rounded it off close to the end of the spoiler. Dont put the stipes that go all the way down the deck lid cause I think you will be extremely dissapointed!!

Hope that helps....
I will try to get some pics up real soon of mine so you can see. Meanwhile go to www.bergerchevy.com and look at the real deal.

I'm not going to say PowerCrap5000 is wrong here because I'm sure his paint looks great. When doing stripes though. Unless you have the best painter in the world he can not top the computer generated stripes that "the best" 3M manufacturers can produce. Now if you go with a cheap 3M kit I'm sure anyone can paint that well. Plus the stripes protech those spots on the hood and won't need replaced for at least 7 years or so.

There are definitely merits to going both ways.

damn my spelling and grammer is terrible today lol. On another note. The 35th stripes would be very hard to paint. I can send you a picture of a car with one painted on one side and a 3m Stripe on the other side. Or I can post it. Give me 5 mintutes.

Why is it that zero top show cars use decals rather than paint? You dont need the "worlds best" painter but a VERY GOOD painter could do stripes on your car that would put the decals to shame.. it would just cost a TON more $$$$.. Plus if you paint them on.. then clear coat the whole deal not only will it last a LONG time (not peel or fade) but it will also not have an edge.. Its not a flame against decal stripes but if $$ were no object paint would win every time JMO

Just checkout the graphics and such on custom bikes and cars to see whats possible with paint.. its actually amazing..

Like I said a great painter could do the stripes and look as good or possibly better. If you can look at the pic though the stripes look much better than the paint and only run 200. If you were doing a 35th style I'd recommend the stripes. I'm probaby going to do paint on mine but I know the painter and he's been doing excellent work for my family for over 20 years.

As far as I know thats just an SS hood. Its not my car

Please don't take my original post to say paint isn't good. I just wanted to post a comparison.

DerekH - Believe me paint is better than stickers. Stickers wear out and can only handle so much. Most of them also tend to be dull looking and can cut into the smoothness of the car. Even a high power "touchless" car wash could begin to peel up or damage the stickers. With paint you get a glossy finish with clear coat protectant. If you are considering which one to do, for sure go with the paint....much better than stripes!!
